wow my husband takes this it is so good for him this will take about 1-2 weeks to kick in fully but keep up with it . it can help extra tip try to take same time every day
My good friend takes it and she said it takes 4 weeks to kick in. However, you won't notice the change, the people around you will. Take it for the next 4 weeks and then ask a good friend you see on the regular basis if they notice a change in you. They will. I promise
it takes about 2 weeks and it should take the edge off your anxiety or depression...whatever your dx is. notify your MD if thought of suicide occur.
I started taking Lexapro about 3 months ago. I felt calmer and less emotional in about 3-4 weeks. It has helped me deal much better with the stress that was bringing me down at work.
I was on it a few years ago. As I recall it worked, but not they way I needed it too. Are you on it for depression or anxiety? It helped by depression but made my anxiety worse. Of course at the time my doctor didn't realize that I suffer from severe anxiety. I have always been one of those people that this kind of drug only takes about 1 week to take some effect on me. And if I am going to have side effects.I know it right away.
I think it is best NOT to listen to what others problems are with a new med and just let yourself see if it works. If you listen to everyone else you might start to think you are having the same problems. Just see if it helps and go with it. Give it 3 weeks and if you aren't feeling any better, or if you are feeling worse.then let your doctor know.
it took me about a week or so to feel like it was doing anything but the first 3 days i had a lot of side effects like nausea dizzy anxiety attacks and all over aching
You may see something in 1-2 weeks. If you feel an effect really fast that may be diagnostic of something else. Please follow up with your doctor if that happens. Hopefully you are seeing a Psychiatrist. If you have an effect really quickly it can mean that you have more than simple depression and another illness all together. It can mean that a person has bipolar disorder. I am not trying to confuse you. I hope that did not. I would just look at it this way if you can. You have made a very big step to getting help and that is wonderful. It is very hard to get to that point. You are on a good medication with very minimal side effects, so that is a great place to start. If you are allowed to exercise do so. Eat well and get on a regular sleep pattern. Try to get some sunlight without burning and harming your skin. Get to the doctor or the ER if you get worse before your next appointment. Do not stop your medication. Work on communicating with your doctor about how your medication is working and if it is giving you any side effects. Never hesitate to call and leave a message with the nurse or receptionist that you are having a problem and what it is. I hope you feel better soon.
