tried almost every antidepressent still feel like crap!?
I had a panic attack about 2 years ago and and have been seeing an RN for medication ever since. Saw a psychologist a couple times and went to cognitive behavioral therapy. The CBT was no use because I dont have a personality disorder. N-e-how I am now on Zoloft and Wellbutrin and I have no kind of energy or ambition. I should I have a 9 month old little girl an 8 year old son and a husband. I now stay home which is what I thought I wanted to do when I was working but now it's hard to get out of bed. My kids do make me smile but there is still an emptyness and I dont know why. Sometimes I want to punch myself because there is people out there that would love to have children or that wish they could walk which makes me feel very selfish and ungrateful. I used lots of Meth when I was a teenager so maybe thats why I am all screwed up. I mean I changed my life around once I found out I was pregnant and have never touched that crap ever since. I think it gave me a false sense of happiness.

Get off what you've on and try Effexor. I know many, many people who swear by it and practically nobody who swears at it. It's an anti-depressant that also helps with anxiety.
you need to see a psychiatrist, who can help with medication and counselling.i have not heard good thing about wellbutrin and my own experience was not good.celexa works moderately well for me with few side effects, but i also need to make a conscious effort to overcome my depression
Don't listen to impossibilityoftruth's answer! He or she is a COMPLETE @$$hole! Check yourself into a mental hospital and seek professional help AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! God put you here for a purpose and for you to fulfill that purpose! Pray to Him and ask Him to relieve you of all of you demons. Prayer AND seeking professional help at a mental institution are the best solutions to your problem!
Get off the medications and exercise. The meth that you used in your teen years didn't let you develop the part of your brain that creates endorphins very well. You can still develop them by exercising. Mentally fight that crappy feeling.
You should be so proud of yourself for overcoming a meth habit!Meth causes a lot of deficiencies in your body.It would really help to take some vitamins & minerals & herbs.Zoloft, along with other antidepresents hurt you more than they help you. There is much information on the internet and in books.Barnes & Nobles has a great selection of books on that subect for under $10.00.If you will take a B complex vitamin,it will help with your stress&anxiety. Also,if you will repeat to yourself that you will not allow yourself to be depressed,it will be the first and most important step of healing yourself of your depression.May you be blessed with light and love*
p.s.look on the internet for natural alternatives for health, herbs and vitamins, yoga, relaxation, chark. healing,Reiki,etc..
The only thing that will fill the emptiness in you is total self-acceptance and love of yourself. The only way to achieve self-acceptance and love of yourself is to recognize there is a Higher Power and trust that through Him, all is well.
Such trust isn't about an "aha!" moment after which life is wonderful.rather, it's a way of life that involves a series of decisions based on the following.you can live in fear or in faith, but not in both. Your happiness depends on you and your attitude, your choices.
Whether you believe in G-d or not, you have the choice A) to realize no matter what, everything is OK (it really is!); or B) to second-guess, worry and wonder what should be different.
The difference between A and B is the difference between being happy, fulfilled and living well; or giving into the enemy - be it apathy, indifference, the dark side or the devil, whatever you want to call it.
CBT isn't just for people with personality disorders. Sometimes brain chemistry is affected greatly by pregnancy. Medication sometimes is a great bridge between the old, unhappy life and the new, balanced one. Paxil and Prozac are two different kinds of drugs that have made a huge, positive difference in the lives of millions of people. Sometimes drugs work well on their own; other times, short-term, goal oriented therapy is required in conjunction with meds; still other times, counseling alone is all that is needed.
Also many people find church and/or temple fulfilling.we are beings made of emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual components, after all, regardless of your choice of religion or non-religion.
If I were you, I'd make sure there wasn't some underlying problem that contributed toward my attitude. Even a low-grade, long-term bacterial infection can change your outlook on life -- you won't know you're sick per se, but you'll know you feel lousy.
Next I'd make a list of things to be happy about every day, and look at it first thing each morning. Then, I'd make it a priority to make certain each statement and action that popped into my head related to walking in faith, not in fear.
Finally, I'd practice being grateful for what is going well in my life, and focus mostly on that -- family, my kids, my health, and the beauty of the world around me. Put one foot in front of the other, do the right things for the right reasons, and you will get to know true happiness.
Sugar can make you do things and feel things that you think are your personality, but it isn't. Please look into this book. At the very least it will explain how the SSRI drugs work and the natural alternative.
I used to scream at my kids. I have not done it or felt like it in almost 3 years.
After trying Paxil and Zoloft and getting now where, my Doctor prescribed Effexor and it works great for me with few side effects. The meds is only want part of getting back on track and feeling good about life, making sure everyone around you understands that this is a disease and you need their help to get through it will make a difference. Good Luck
I hope you have tried all medications. That means in the case of Sertralin - You must try upto 200mg and wait for 3 months for a response.
You had also tried augmenting and switching.
You might get benefit from ECT.
Take enough dose for enough time.
Number one, see a psychiatrist for your condition. They are the ones who know how to regulate and treat your condition with medication. What disorder were or have you ever been diagnosed with? As for the meds, Zoloft is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. I had been on it about a month ago and took myself off of it because of the side effects. Wellbutrin acts more as a stimulant but for some people it can have a reverse effect such as sedation. Zoloft made me feel like I was zoned out and in a trance all the time along with excess sweating. And yes your Meth use probably has effected you in some harmful way. It's great your clean, stay that way. Consider going to a NA meeting, they can be of help as well. You might consider Lexapro or Celexa.
You can't get better until you want to get better. You are probably comfortable in your depression. What you need to do is get back to your doctor, try a medication AND therapy. Medication is sometimes useless with therapy. Staying home all day is not going to make anything better -- go shopping, find a hobby, or get a part-time job.
You might need a mood stabilizer. Many people that have been on multiple antidepressants with no success have a underlying mood disorder. With out the mood stabilizer no antidepressant will have an optimal effect. Lamictal is a mood stabilizer that treats bipolar as well as depression that has no been successfully treated with SSRI's.
though you are drug (meth) free, you may still benefit from narcotics anonymous. You might be "clean and crazy," a person who has quit the drugs, but has not quit the drug-addict ways. You'd be surprised how much better you can feel once you get around a bunch of folks who used to behave like you and have now gotten it together (as together as a human being gets).
