Why do I sometimes over-explain or try to convince people of my point of view?
Answers:
you are unsure. be comfortable with dis agreement, It all eill work out
Because you are trying to rationalize what you are saying. You think you are right and want people to agree with you. I do it sometimes too.
because you are unsure of your view yourself
Probably insecurites are the reason why. It sounds like you need to trust yourself more and be a little more confident in yourself.
Maybe it's a control thing- you have to be right on a certain topic?
everyone does explain a little bit too much once in a while but don't stress over it eveyone does just stop talking brethe and do it all over again hope it works!
Don't believe you're insecure! It is quite possible and probable that you honestly have beliefs that you need to express.. when someone disagrees with it, express and over-explain all you want! People make careers out of this. Maybe you should say "I need to express my beliefs and try to convince people" not "Why do I do it"..
It's because you weren't listened to as a child. Now that you are an adult, when you don't feel someone is really understanding what you are saying, you tend to try to 'teach' them something. as if you are proving to them you are an adult now.
Its a control issue as well as rage. I will assume you do this especially in situations were there is never a real answer, like politics.
