Your answers are very important to me Serious Inq. only?

I currently take paxil for anxiety and depression, Paxil has worked great for me for many years I think it might be time for a change in my medications because i dont feel as good as I did several years ago. Please tell me if you take this medication and how many mg just so I can kinda see where im at in my treatment, My MD says to increase my paxil but Ive also heard that there is no proven fact that over a certain mg a day will not make a difference. If you have any info to help me out Feel free! Thanks to all my friends on this forum. Together we can make a difference in a person in needs life! Including mine.. Thanks again Also I would like to hear you weirdest feeling you have had with your anxiety, panic or depressive symptoms. Just know someone else has some of the same problems as I do help me out alot..

Hi! I tried paxil for some time: I felt very very tired for a very long time- I stayed tired and "without energy" while using it. In the beginning I also had tremors but that went away.

Side-effects are a serious issue and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. If you have given paxil a fair shot and don't know if the side-effects way up to the benefits you need to change meds or find another solution.

Good luck!
Mike, I am not on drugs. The reason you are not feeling as good is because YOU (the spiritual being) are being killed or buried beneath these drugs. What is sad is that your doctor is knowingly doing this to you. Would he/she do this to their kid? So more drugs = more buried. Depression can behandled without it, I see it alot. Maybe you would like to see a video of psychs saying that there are no valid tests for mental illness and that they can't cure you. If you are interested, go to www.cchr.org. Good luck sir!
i tend to think many anti-depressants are over prescribed, where counseling or support group may prove more beneficial. That said, you may want to get a second opinion. Paxil can reach therapeutic effectiveness fairly quickly, and perhaps your doctor wants to see if a higher dosage will help you out of something you are in right now.

Paxil's action in the body is in the reuptake or metabolizing of neurotransmitters. If you suffer from a depressive or compulsive illness the increase of these neurotransmitters can eleviate the symptoms of your illness in the correct dosage. They do not cure the problem. only eleviate the severe symptoms.
I take 20 mg of Paxil every night. At one time when my life was not stressful the doc changed it to 10 mg. After a while I had a traumatic experience in my life and I started to feel very depressed so I increased the Paxil to 20 mg again. I went to the doc right after that and he said that I did the right thing. I felt much better by taking the 20 mg again. I have a chemical imbalance and whenever my life gets very stressful for reasons that I cannot control I will always suffer from depression if I am not on medication.
I started out on 20 mg and the doc said that is a small dose. Medicines work differently with me than most people. They say 4-6 wks, not me...I feel it the same day. So 20 mgs might be different for you. Go up, what will it hurt, it will either work or not. If it doesn't than you can switch to something else. I would rather go up and try it then switch too soon.
