if so how long does it take to go away, i already seen my docter and she gave me pills to help me. i am already starting to feel better, but i still feel down alot, what can i do to help me get passed this, It is so hard.
Answers:
well.i was/am depressed.
it's very hard, but bear in mind that the pills can take a month or more to take full affect. depression pills aren't like other medicines, they need to build up in your system to actually work.
it'll get better, so just be strong.
Yes, I have heard of depression. Now I am not against taking medication, but please seek a second opinion from a medical doctor or a psychologist independently, review all the information and studies available on side effects, and talk to friends and relatives. You want to be certain this is the right decision. Sometimes people need other solutions such as therapy, a change in diet or sleeping patterns, a spiritual guide, etc.
Take the Homeopathic Remedy AURUM MET 30C thrice a day half hour before meals it would help you without any side effects or complications and no reaction with your regular medication.
Take Care and God Bless !
ASK for ZOLOFT pills!! they are wonderful!! and may help you lose weight! DEPRESSION is a short lived thingie! It may be with the weather or the season! JUST take the pills and enjoy!

Every person that suffers from depression is different. Some people are "down" for a week or two, some longer, some shorter. Mine usually lasts 3-4 months, and comes on anytime. I haven't found a medication that helps me yet, but when I am down, I usually write, draw, and/or listen to music. Those things relax me more. They don't take it away but at least it helps me through the hard times.
Is your depression from a recent unpleasant episode?? A tragic thing? Or, are you suffering from a real, mental illness with lack of serotonin and dopamines - the brain transmitters? If so, it takes 2-3 months for anti-depressants to start to work. Good luck to you, Kitty
Depending on the medication, you should be up to the max effect in about 2 weeks, more or less (usually more-up to a month), depending on the severity of your illness, external factors, and your body's natural metabolism. Sometimes, though the 1st drug you try doesn't work that well, so you may have to mess around with the dose, or even change prescriptions a few times b4 getting the right results.
There's a great book, called "Lift Your Mood Now!", w/ lots of things to help you get past the rough spots. But the best thing is to find something that makes you laugh, and enjoy it often! Cartoon DVD's, or even reruns of Gilligan's Island. Anyway, stick with your dr on the treatment plan, communicate often with him/her, and don't give up your fight for recovery!
Good luck!
Yes, every now and then. It's more than being upset or down. It's a feeling of hopelessness. That's how I would describe it. But what I also notice, is that when I get to the bottom of my feelings, I get a boost. Like I feel SO shitty that my every being says ENOUGH! and my confidence comes flooding back through me. So maybe we have to experience the worst to discover our true strength. Maybe you haven't achieved your bottom yet. But as horrible as that sounds to you, you can stand it. Pain brings you strength. Never give up on life. That's one thing that I'll never waver on. I am here everyone, and I will be known after I'm gone!!
Think these things for yourself. It is definitely a mental effort to change the negative thoughts into positive ones. As soon as you say the negative, verbally correct yourself. At this point you need to force yourself to repeat the right answer. It's for your own peace of mind. I'm not perfect, not by a long shot. But I'll never stop trying. Good luck in everything!
I've had dental depression, my teeth are killing me!
Sorry, just felt the need for some stand up.
All three of my siblings are on depression pills and I am not. I am pretty sure that I should/would/could be diagnosed as depressed -- I live alone after a shattering divorce.
However I do have a strong spiritual base.
Can you bear some honesty? I think that if we were still working in the fields to stay alive that depression would not be an issue.
Whether is the physical labor (which I think makes a difference) or just working to exhaustion, I dunno.
But -- get to the gym, weed your garden, play basketball. Our society is soooo lazy (as am I, I'm not preaching) that I think we are just missing the physical taxing on our bodies so we feel like crap.
Where else would you have depression. Seems as you may need to change what you think about.. It is a condition that is usually self induced. If you don't have a chemical imbalance or, are bi-polar.. just change what your mind is doing to you.
