I would use Ativan 0.5mg about an hour before leaving the house. Then repeat the 0.5 mg about an hour before the flight. I don't think Klonopin is an appropriate choice. It is more for long term than short term. For me, Ativan is lighter then Xanax or Valium. That is, Ativan does not have any side efffects for me while both Valium and Xanax feel heavier.
