Lexapro good or bad?
I here that it's a great drug for anxiety and that it works very well. But, when i ask people about it like on the internet they say, it sucks, or it has to many side effects. Yesterday i took my first 2.5 tablet, and i have to take it everyother day for 7 days. So far i just get tried and dizzy. Should i stay on this, i really don't like taking anxitey medication. I'm also going to start seeing a psychogist which will help me out alott. But, do you like the medication??
Answers:
all anxiety meds take more than two weeks to work. i've tried all kinds for anxiety and they all worked differently.you have to try them out..and figure out which one works best for you..don't get discouraged.hang in there..it will just take time.don't believe everything you read..just listen to your doctor.
and congrats on getting help.they might help you sort your anxiety issues out and you won't need drugs! but, they are not all bad.and they do serve their purpose.when you want your life to go back to normal.and no one needs to know you're on them!
good luck!
i think that you should stop taking all your life problems to AnyQA.com, but ty for the 2 points
Lexapro will take a while to work for most people.
I never was tired or dizzy while on Lexapro - but pay attention to your behavior to ensure that normal behavior limits are not exceeded.
you know you might benfit from it or not. and it might have bad side effects for you and it might not. You just need to try it out if you really want to know.and get on the right amount that seems to do the trick for you.
Lexapro is good for some people and bad for others. there is no way of knowing until you've been on it for awhile.
after about 3 weeks the side effects tend to go away.
And yes, I like the medication.
I used to be on zoloft but it pooped out and became ineffective.
I was on it for over a year and now that i am on something else for anxiety and depression I know that i hated being on it. It made me have "freak out" sessions and I became very mean at times. but thats just me.
If that doesn't work for you lots of people also take a medication called paxil once daily.
I think it is one of the better medications along with Zoloft, Wellburin and Celexa (the older less pure form of Lexapro)
Effexor, Paxil and Cymbalta are bad medications because they have more side effects and withdrawal problems. The drug companies refer to these as discontinuation syndrome, but they feel like horrible withdrawl to the people experiencing them.
If you are having problems with side effects talk to your doctor and discuss it. Leave a message with the nurse or receptionist and tell them you are having a problem, so they will know it is urgent. Tell them what the problem is. Your doctor is there to help you. It is especially important during your transition phase.
