Anyone have any little OCD's?
I cant stop messing with my hands, my friends dad has a really bad one and had a documentary made about it, he is obsessed with the number 12. Everything he does has to be done 12 times
Answers:
I'm obsessed with the number 4. Yes my lucky number is 3, but my OCD number is 4. Had since I was a little kid. I take four spoon fulls then rest spoon.chew four times then swallow.click door knob four times then shut.brush each surface of my teeth in strokes of four. EVERYTHING is fours.
I've got other things too, but I wanted to stick to your question.
Wow Dad's friend's number is 12.that's a lot of times.
OR my OCD number (4) x my Lucky number (3) = 12
Ya, you!
sad that it is mine is descaling sinks i do like to see a really shiny streak free sink and taps!
I used to when i was younger, i had to make sure the tap in the bathroom was swithced off before leaving the room. It took me ages to leave sometimes!
I also had to make sure in between my fingers were dry when i washed my hands! I have grown out of those now though.
I have OCD, everything I do has to be in order & I'm afraid of germs.
i like my bathroom sink to be spotless! if i wash my hand or brush my teeth i wipe it down every time its just me i guess
i have too constantly wash my hands, its annoying cos i know they're not dirty, but they feel dirty.it's annoying.
where are your hands when you are messing with them??
sorry, I know this is NOT funny because it can really ruin peoples lives but, I hope you take this in the light-hearted way it was meant Paul?
Mine is with my sleeping arrangements. My pillows have to be PERFECTLY straight, and two inches from the headboard. My duvet has to be straight on the bed, if it gets screwed up at all, I have to get up and sort it out. When its not right I can't sleep or relax. It drives my other half crazy. In my everyday life I'm quite messy, with no other little hang ups. Weird.
yup a rather dangerous one too. mine is when im driving at night i constantly check on my journey that my lights are on even though people reassure me they are shining on the road i tend to switch them off and on very quickly and also i constantly check my gears its like my brain dont register it so i have to do it again. nedless to say i tend to try and avoid night driving if i can
Yes, lots of people suffer OCD, it's just the scale to which we do so that effects our lives.
For example, everyone has their own little routines they feel they should do, which rates most people from 1-3, perhaps like how you play with your hands. When you are around 4-6 it is more noticable and people will most likly comment on it, like you just have about your friends' dad. It's when it's above 6 that it will have a negative impact on your life and can make things difficult, like doing certain activities or having a strong and stable relationship.
If you want something done professionally I'd recommend a psychologist, though your hand routine doesn't sound life threatening. It could be a way for your mind to deal with anxiety/nervousness/low self-esteem perhaps? I don't know if that applies to you because I don't know anything about you, but that would be a possible hypothesis.
Hope you have a nice day, good luck and I sincerely hope you are well. Xx

Only joking, i do have a mad obsession for perfection though that can get in the way sometimes.
Being fallible's great aint it?
yes... i count things...even my steps
Ive done it ever since i was a little girl, i think it was because i was scared to walk on the cracks in the side walk, i would count each step over a crack!
i do. i like everything organized. i just hate dirty ,messy things.but, i can tolerate it to a certain degree
All the tins in the cupboard have to face the right way (labels forward). I check the door is locked the oven is off and plugs are switched of twice before i go to bed. Then i lay in bed and think did i check the oven so have to start again.
i don't know if it is classed as ocd but i cant seem to get off this site when i get started, like now i really should be in bed but like last night and the night before i am on here. but any way you are very cute i could get o.c.d over you.lol..anyway don't worry about your o.c.d for everyone will be looking at your face and wont even notice your hands.true
yes, i do
Some people get habits mixed up with ocd most people have routines like my husband checks all the plugs are checks the doors are locked properly checks the smoke alarm every night before he goes to bed its really funny too on a Saturday night when he is tipsy he still does it. Mine would be my kitchen table it is glass and I must wipe it about 15 to 20 times a day every time someone puts a finger mark on it. It cracks everyone up.
