i'm so scared of flying planes..anyone have any ways to get over it?
Answers:
Hey there. I work for an commercial airline manufacturer. The engines are extraordinarily reliable and most planes can fly with only one engine left. Funny enough, there is so much lift generated by the thrust of the engines, the trick is to keep the plane down and flying level, not continuing up in the air. Every system is redundant, some more than once. It's a little scary to get up there, but you'll just fine.
do fly em' just be a passanger
Try flying to Mars.
Drink a lot!!
entertain yourself while your on the plane, sleep, tell yourself its going to be ok, and maybe pray to god so he can protect u
anxiety, a doctor can prescribe some medicines to calm your feelings. take it before the flight
get shi*faced and passout on the plane. dont fly, drive. take a soothing medicine that chills you out. smoke some grass.
Fly with a friend,(bring a blanket and cover yourself up :0 )
well ive flown a couple of times. but whats so scary about flying?
talk to a counselor that may be able to help you get over your fear of flying.
Seriously, you should go very near an airport with someone and just be around them taking off and landing. get used to them - unless you face the fear, you will always be afraid.
Therapy is always a great option. If you don't want to go to therapy there are always sedatives you can take that will help you sleep through the flight.
There's relaxing pills you can take to get over the anxiety. But it's also best to remember that you have a greater chance to die in a car accident or bus accident than in a plane crash.
You could see a hypnotist to see if they can fix that.
Many people just work around it by taking the train or cars. It's hard though if your job requires traveling.
I would encourage you to speak to a therapist or a psychiatrist. They could probably prescribe anxiety pills that could relieve your stress. If you're against taking medication, I would try to fly with someone you know personally or a family member.

Try to book a seat near the front of the plane (an aisle seat, bulk-head seat is ideal, it's the first seat, but not much leg room.) This may may you feel less scared on a flight. You will be closer to the flight attendants and the pilots.
Tell the flight attendant that you are anxious about flying, they can keep an eye on you if you feel nervous.
when you're on the plane: grab a stick of gum, pop it in your mouth, chew it as fast, close your eyes, hold on tight to your seat/friend/whatever, and pray to God you will land safely.
You should first get something from your Dr that will make you less anxious. Bring along something to do that will make the time pass. Normally I would not say drinking would help any situation, but here, I think it might be helpful. Just don't drink if you are taking medications as well. Get a seat in first class. Its more comfy and its quieter. It makes it easier to sleep. Load up on junk food to bring with. Eating can make the time go faster. I don't like to fly either, but these things help. If you don't have time to get a Rx. take a Dramamine or a Tylenol pm.
Not sure if you are saying your scared to be up in a plane or planes flying over you.
"The Day The Earth Stood Still" Nice pic martain man. lol
I used to be afraid to fly but now I am a frequent flyer. What worked for me was just realizing that members of the flight crew fly mulitiple flights at least five days a week. That is how they earn their living. On one of my earlier flights I was so scared that I even went as far as to bringing my bible on board. LOL. However, I am a Christian, so now I just simply trust God, pray and realize that I am not going to go before my time. I will be praying for you. Peace and God bless.
