I would bit my nail till they bleed then I would chew on the cuticles. I did this for over 40 years. How I stopped is I got acrylic nails. I even tried to bite those for a while. Guys can wear acrylic nails too. You can have them put on very short and and get them to look like your natural nail. I very seldom wear polish and I am always having people ask me how I got my nails to grow so great. People can't believe that they are acrylic. Good Luck.

whatever i say is not important because i'm not an expert. see a shrink for your own good. cheers!
Your nails probably are sitting on the bottom of your stomach. Sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder to me. Do you do anything else obsessively like that? Could be a nervous habit too, like thumb sucking, lip biting, lip wetting, picking, smoking, eating. Go see a psychologist who specializes in behavior modification.
your a nervous nelly
perfect way to stop biting your nails..get fake ones they have them for guys they work great
I believe that if a person is concerned there is something negatively affecting their mental health, it is well worth having an evaluation done by a professional. Who knows? It might be something SOOO easy to help! You might be glad you did!
ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVE NERVIOUS DISORDERS, AND THIS COULD BE ONE OF THEM. TRY TO RELAX AND DO STRESS MANAGMENT AND EXERCISE AS WELL AS TAKE A VITAMIN EVERY DAY. LACK OF B VITAMINS IS A CAUSE FOR MANY DISORDERS! I RECOMMEND TO YOU A VITAMIN THAT HAS BIOTIN TO HELP YOUR NAILS AND ALSO TO TAKE A VITAMIN THAT HAS LOTS OF B VITAMINS IN THEM, BIOTIN IS A B VITAMIN AS WELL. THERE IS B1-B6 VITAMINS AND THEN BIOTIN AS WELL. TAKE THEM DAILY, SEE IF IT HELPS THIS!
VITAMINS ARE GOOD ALONG WITH EXERCISE TO RELEAVE STRESS!

STOP BITING U'RE NAIL. u will get
worm in u're stomach
dip them in hot sauce.? Set on your hands when you get the urge? Maybe wrap band aids around them until you give up the habbit? Maybe if you knew how much bacteria are under your nails you wouldn't think they were a tasty snack?!

This has to be one of the hardest habits to break, but it can be done. Here are just a few ways to make it easier.
Difficulty: N/A

Time Required: N/A

Here's How:
1. Decide that you are going to stop. Pick a day and say that's it. No more nibbling. Now here are a few little ways to help.

2. There are some bitter tasting liquids that can painted onto the nails. I don't know anyone who actually liked the taste, so this is going to slow you down and give your nails a little time to start growing.

3. The minute you wash your hands, re-apply the liquid mentioned above. This will also focus attention on your hands and the nails which should be visible by now.

4. Keep an emery board in every room and one in your backpack or purse. The minute you notice a snag, use the emery board and not your teeth.

5. Buy a few bottles of pretty polish and some hand cream. You are going to keep your nails polished and your hands soft. In a weeks time, you are going to notice a difference.

6. Once a biter, always a biter. I have stopped, but it only takes a snag for me to revert back to old habits. I have to follow these tips too.

7. You might have been looking for a magical way to stop biting your nails, but I'm afraid that there is no such thing. You simply have to put your mind to it and stop!

8. Will power is an amazing thing. If you want something badly enough, you can do it. If you want pretty nails, you are the only person who can stop it from happening.

How to use a rubberband to stop biting your nails
Former nail-biter Ken Norton kicked the habit by wrapping a rubberband around his wrist and snapping it just enough to sting when he thought about chewing on his fingernails:

At first, I'd remember to snap myself only after I'd started biting. Or I'd snap myself, but chew anyway. But within 48 hours I noticed that I was chewing less and less. For one thing, I was thinking about nailbiting more frequently, and I was reminding myself how much I hated it. Amazingly, the involuntary habit had given way to my voluntary consciousness. Within a week I was done biting, and have never had the problem again (I ditched the rubber band after two weeks). For the first time in my life I had to learn how to clip my nails.
u are just like a baby
That's just a habit. I used to do it a lot, now I keep a pair of finger nail clippers with me at all times. It turned out that it wasn't biting the finger nails so much as chewing on them for me.
