What can I do about my decreased libido because of Paxil CR?
I feel pretty good on Paxil CR. The only thing that bothers me is I have a very low libido. It really puts a huge negative impact on my relationship with my boyfriend. I Hate It. It's awful. I want my sexual drive back. What should I do? Oh, and I have talked to my psychiatrist, she switched me to Lexapro, which made me feel very unhappy regarding depression and anxiety, so now she suggested skip taking the pill the night before you have sex. I notice very little. What do i do?

i was on paxil for about 6 months and my sex drive went down the drain, I couldnt even get wet. So I got off the pill and just went to therapy, it helped me and my emotions and my sex life didnt suffer because of it! Pills don't fix everything, theres always going to be a side effect!
Drink some alcohol. That always does the trick. Just do it a few hours before you have sex.
We're not doctors & you shouldn't take the advice of anybody here.
Your health is too important. Go back to your doctor until they find a solution to your problem.
If you are experiencing negative side effects from paxil, and I'd call decreased libido negative, it's a item you should discuss with your doctor. There are other medications that can be used and they may be kinder to your system.
Welbutrin seems to help with depresion, might not work with the anxiety though. and it didn't have any bad sexual side effects for me. (actually I had the best orgasms of my life!) but once again this is something you would want to talk to your doctor about.
also if you are a smoker it will help you quit smoking.
good luck!
I'm not a doctor and I don't suggest skipping a pill, I don't see how that would work anyway, the medication is in your blood stream. but Most antidepressants void your sex life totally, they say cymbalta has the least sexual side effects, duh, I haven't found one yet, If you run up on anything let me know Good Luck
I would not take Paxil it is not good for anyone!
ask your doc about cyproheptadine. Might help
