What are some coping skills to get over PTSD?

I posted on Yahoo answes before um i suggest maybe checking out my old post b4 answering i would rather not re write it lol

http://AnyQA.com/question/index;.

Anyway My girlfriend sought a councelor for me but i've sinced stopped seeing her as i do with alot of my councelors. I've already been diagnosed with PTSD but whenever we start to go towards fixing what happened i shy away, no matter how much i want to I get physicaly Ill and i've found its easier to not go and have to deal with it and push it down and deal with the pain. Comfortable with the pain is what someone suggested and I'm guessing thats true. I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to that place. I'm posting to just ask if there are any things i can do without going to a psychiatrist? Is it even possible? Or would i essentially have to go and accept/get help for this?

You may hate me for this but I seriously think this is what you need to hear.

You can think it through yourself and come to terms with it on your own.

It's called getting a grip on yourself. Seriously !

Everyone in this world of today wants the easy way to what ever. Well there is no easy way.

If you want to get better YOU HAVE TO FACE IT.

Otherwise you are wasting your time and money and everyone Else's time. MY TIME.

What ever it is that you experienced in the past is IN THE PAST.
It's done, over with, water under the bridge, old news, yesterdays paper, GONE.
IT WILL NOT HURT YOU ANYMORE.

So get a grip and face it.
Be tough
Be strong
Be brave
Be open
Be willing to do it for yourself, because no one can open your door but YOU!

So either you get down with it or stop bothering others with the I want help routine.

The hardest thing that you can do, is accept what has happened to you. As far as guilt, you don't have anything to feel guilty about. You were a kid. Accept that fact. It wasn't your fault. Another thing you can do is go to the police, and tell them you were molested by your uncle. Have him thrown in jail. Did your parents know about this? If they did, have them thrown in jail as accessories. That will go a long way in helping you and your problems.
This may sound stupid but anyone who has PTSD who has taken MDMA will tell you that it will do nothing but help more then you can possibly believe.
MDMA - the drug that was made illegal in 1985 that is no more harmful than a single glass of alchohol or a 20minute car ride.

If you're serious about this, this is your answer, go do a couple searches and read up on it, check out www.ecstasy.org or look up the book "E for Ecstasy"
The poet Rilke said that each sadness that passes through us, changes us for the better. Allocate a day to just feel the pain, anger, guilt, or whatever it is that you link to the sadness. Feel it till you feel that you can't hurt more. Then give it up. Not because it doesn't exist in your life, but because it's changed you the way it wanted to. You are ready to experience new feelings now.

It is a lot easier to live if you stop dwelling on the past and forget about the future. Because the first one cannot be changed and the second one never exists. Just take today on its face value. Thank God that you were given a special pain that makes you uniquely equipped to help others when they go through similar emotions. And thank God that you are not one of those, who give advice even when they've had very mediocre lives and don't know a thing about pain or real trouble. You know you can help others because you've sailed the troubled seas.

It is strange but true. Your life changes when you change your perspective. You'll see yourself responding differently to pain once you realize it is a gift.

About the drugs/alcohol/medicine, they are legalized/illegal ways to escape pain and its consequences.
A medicine is given to a patient to help his body strengthen itself and fight and remove the infection/illness completely. If your medicine only makes you sleepy or temporarily alliviates the problems, so that you have to be dependent on it for life, it is no better than an addiction (as in drugs or alcohol). It might as well be labelled that. Ask any doctor who really knows his chops and he will tell you that medicine is given to aid the body's recovery process and not make it addicted to some substance.
Don't get into addiction (legalized/illegal).
