is schizophrenia a 100% heritary disease?
Hello.I have had schizophrenia since age 14.
Answers:
No it is not. Science still isn't 100% sure why schizophrenia develops at all. Thier current hypothesis suggests that it is partly due to genetic factors and partly due to environmental stimuli that trigger it.
No, it is not 100% hereditary. There have been studies with identical twins, and not both develop schizophrenia. There are multiple levels to developing a mental illness and genetics or inheiriting the disease is only one part.
Scientists are still trying to determine what the other causes/factors may be for development.
If you have had it since 14, you should do your homework and have a complete understanding of your illness.

I see you ask a lot of questions regarding schizophrenia, if you do indeed have this disorder, please do your homework and get a better understanding other than relying on these AnyQA.com.
No one knows for sure. I don't believe it is 100% genetics. It's just like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc. You may be genetically incline but it is much deeper than that.
The mind is way more than a piece of matter and scientists are nowhere near close to understanding it despite what is claimed.
Never believe you have to have an illness based on genetics. You have the power in you to change that.
It does have a genetic link, my mother is schizo phrenic, but all 3 of her kids including myself aren not
