What should i do? I'm 21, never had a serious job, i'm depressed and agorophobic!?

I don't know what to do. I'm such a loser to the extent of asking complete strangers what to do. I've been severely depressed and agorophobic/social phobic since i was 16, my life's stopped since then. Luckily my parents still put up with me, but i'm sick of being a burden to everyone.

I'm so ashamed of myself, i'v never had a proper job. I've only ever worked cash in hand during my late teens. No employer would take me now, i'm more likely to get laughed out of the building. But that's not even the worst thing. I can't even leave my house, so how the hell am i going to even get an interview at all? I'm so sick of collecting my sickness benefit every two weeks. if you knew me you'd know how much i hate doing this. I don't want hand outs, i want a life.

I realise that it may be best to sort my problems before going out and trying to actually get work, but time's running out. Today i'm a 21 year old loser, tommorow i'll be a 30 year old loser.

I really need advice.

Go back to the basics. The best first step you can do for your mental health is to work on developing good health practices. Exercise daily, at least 30 minutes, at least 5 times a week. Get 15 minutes of sunlight daily. Eat Real Food rather than highly processed, preserved food. Take a multi-vitamin every day, with food.

Once you are disciplined enough to do that on your own, start making small, exploratory trips to activities you think might be fun, but not crowded. Visit stores and activities at the hours they will be least crowded. SLOWLY emerge into the world.

Wow im so sorry. Go to school! Go to college! Then after then get a job!
You can contact me centaur1122 on Yahoo! Messenger
Wow! You have a lot on your plate. Contact me if you wish. I have some suggestions.
Go See a Psychologist, its their job to make you feel better and happier.
Go out and get a job.
If they ask about prior employment, lie. (It's rarely checked for low-end jobs).
its hard to go back and study again.. want to be proud? serve in the army, there atleast you get paid and people outside will respect you.. im not joking
You certainly need help and your story is indeed painful. The good news is that there are treatments and help available. Do you have relatives who can help you. There are medications now that can help with depression and phobias but you probably also need some counselling. Did you study or could you study to qualify yourself for work? I just do not have enough information about you or your circumstances so I don't know where to begin. I don't know whether you live in Canada or the U.S. but in both countries there are numbers to call to help with depression. The big step is to try and get out of the house to ge where there is more help. It is not true you will be laughed out of the building. You obviously have a computer, you can write and you are eloquent and clear explaining your feelings. So you must be able to work even if you need a bit of help. There are good people so please try and do not give up. The only herb I know that can help with depression is St. John's Wort and take the recommended dose on the bottle.
Get help right now. Trust me. I waited 10 years before even trying to get help and I only regret not trying sooner. Go see someone about your depression and get in touch w/ a counselor or psychologist. Don't waste 10 years of your life like I did!
Well if it makes you feel better I'm 2 up on you. I'm 23 and I've never had a serious job. I'm just NOW learning how to drive. I totally understand how you feel. Sometimes I feel like such an inconvenience to everyone. I'm planning to get a job once I get my license but the scariest part is not having any experience. Hopefully we both can get through it!
