Any comments on the new patch Daytrana for ADHD?
My 7 yr old grandson started it yesterday, the doctor said I would see results with the first patch, NOOOTTTT! He is on the 10mg strength.

I am only responding because I discovered this recently.
My husband has kidney disease and we go to the Tortoise Clinic of Chinese Medicine for treatment - acupucture and chinese herb medicine. I recently found out there is a group of home schooled AD/HD kids going to the clinic for treatment for AD/HD. I asked if it was the herbs or acupuncture. It's the herbs - no acupuncture. I asked how things were going. Seems that their was such an improvement in the 1st kid - that all the other parents are bringing their kid for treatment.
I just wanted to let you know an alternative because until I saw this 11yr old girl there - I had no idea that chinese medicine treats AD/HD.
I personally wonder how much a part hyperinsulinemia plays in ADD, ADHD, etc, as the symptoms are so similar to mine when I was hypoglycemic (one condition that results from hyperinsulinemia). Unfortunately, the only friend I know with an ADD child doesn't listen to me when I suggest she get her son tested for high insulin. She just suffers and moans about his misbehavior.
If herbs help, I would wonder if they are herbs that lower blood sugar, like cinnamon.
