Answers:
Grapefruit contains bergamotin a chemical that inhibits the intestinal enzyme cytochrome P450 3A4. This increases the bioavailability of the drugs that you are taking. This means that determining your correct dosage may be difficult; there is a chance of overdosage. This is a possibility of increased side effects.
Grapefruit juice can increase the blood levels of those pharmaceuticals as if you had taken a larger dose.
Hi,,, darn,,, i take the first two myself.. no one ever told me that..and I like grapefruit.. no kidding...

Drinking just one glass of grapefruit juice or eating a single grapefruit can significantly interfere with the body's ability to eliminate certain drugs. So these drugs may be present at higher-than-normal levels, which can increase the risk of drug side effects. This interference occurs even when these drugs are taken several hours after a grapefruit snack. Other citrus juices such as orange juice don't affect drugs this way.
Grapefruit reacts with your seroquel and increases the power of the seroquel. It gives you the same effect as if you took more seroquel than you should have.
The doctor wants to moniter exactly what dose of seroquel works best for your symptoms. Therefore, it is important that your body have the same amount of medicine each day. If you eat grapefruit, the increase of the effectiveness of the seroquel is more difficult to measure. Also, if you eat grapefruit one day and don't eat it the next, you are effectivly making the level of medicine rise and fall. That makes it hard for your doctor to see if one dosage is best because your medicine would be more effective (with the grapefruit) one day and less effective (without it) another. So if you just take the seroquel and don't eat grapefruit, it makes it a whole lot easier for the doctor to adjust the level of the seroquel alone, if necessary.
Also, if you eat grapefruit, it can make you have more side effects, like becoming more sleepy.
