Stress relief needed?
I'm a teacher about to start a very hectic year with loads of new things to worry about. I would love to find something natural to either take or to do (never tried yoga or anything like it before, but am open). I would like to try meditaiton but don't know where to start.

See if you can get into a tai'chi class or buy a video. It is the art of meditation of both body and mind. You will learn breathing techniques along with gentle and subtle movements in your body which produce an overall sence of well-being and relaxation. You can also try chamomile tea or Valerian root capsules from your local Holland & Barrett store.
Tai'Chi was better than yoga for me when seeking relaxation. Good luck.
Learn to breath properly - look it up on the net. It is very very effective for stress and nerves. When I suddenly feel nervous/angry/impatient I just take a few deep breaths and it works like magic.
meditation would be nice but try yoga it doesnt have to be private teachings or something
My girlfriend has a very stressful job. She does Yoga. She is very strong and healthy because of it. She likes it because it makes her calm. I like it because it makes her muscles shapely and her belly flat. She also runs marathons for the same reason.
No. No. Try sex with a good partner - it is damned good stress reliever.
You can start with "meditation of breathing".
Close ur eyes concentrate on breathing. Count breathing. For example count as one when up, 2 when dowa,3 when again up like that.
Take a break and do something you enjoy.
Tai chi is pretty good. Yoga is also very helpful. it.
cant remember the author, but a book called channeling will help with the meditation

By a pistol and go to a shooting range. If that doesn't work sell the pistol before you get stressed and go on a shooting spree.
I once saw a game at a fairground good for stress. you had a big mallet and monsters came out of random holes and you had to whack them on the head - often thought this would be good thing to have in the office - either that or a padded soundproof room where you can go shout or bounce yourself off the wall
valerian root extract is great for stress i use it myself when i am stressed. also sometimes a quiet time of meditation helps sooth a person as well, just deep breathing and relaxing can calm the nerves, the valerian is extremely helpful and natural with no side affects whatsoever.
I know this is expensive but jacuzzis are extremly relaxing, u could always go to a spa or gym where they usually have jacuzzis.
im a pupil at linlithgow academy dont worry just think for ten seconds and take a deep breath
Do you play a musical instrument? Singing forces one to breathe deeply, which is a well-known stress reliever. Following a good melody in most people brings a euphoria that releases seratonin, the #1 attack agent against stress. Lastly, it engages the mind on something other worldly, thereby providing a pseudo-spiritual release from the cares of the world without being dependent on the fickleness of a transcendental state.
Repeat after me: "Hey Jude . don't make it bad . take a sad soooong, and make it better . "
Try to sing for 10 minutes each morning.

Pranayama & transidental Meditation, the off-shoot of Pranayama, are the best therapy. But it is not advisable to learn, on own, like from books, internet, etc. If you can go to good Yoga teacher, he will guide you.
Go to a health food store and buy what's called Ginkgo Biloba it clears the mind making things feel a little nicer but in the end your just going to have to go home and cloded the door just getting away from it all and everybody .
I have a pretty stressful job and to compensate i've been going to the gym 3 / 4 times a week for a few years now. Once you get started it's great & there's loads of different classes there. Pop down your local gym & any of the instructors would be more than happy to talk you through it.
Good luck in your new job.
Just count your blessings every day.and remember them when you encounter those people who make life miserable for others..be thankful for the fact you are not like them..

If you can exercise just 30 min a day, u can get some of the same benefits from an antidepressant, not that you are depressed, but that is what they give for treatment of anxiety.. Also, try some camohmile tea, it helps u relax (and is excellent for cramps too)
Good luck.
KALMS ARE GOOD
