Do you think I need help?
Ive been drinking since I was 16. Im 26 now. I drink once or twice during the weekday (about 1 or 2 drinks) and the weekend (Ill drink 5 or 6). Do you think its a lot? 2 drinks will make me buzzed and 4 will get me drunk. When i wake up, i feel guilty. Also, my stomache aches the next day cause of a hangover. I cant stop. What do i do? Please dont attack me. I could use some good advice.
Answers:
DON'T LET IT BECOME A PROBLEM. You are doing just fine now, but if you let it go further it will become one. Be good to yourlelf and find someone to talk to about what is on your mind.
I don't think you are an acholholic, but i would try to stop drinking AS much. maybe 1 or 2 every 3 days or something.
You have a drinking problem dear and need help. AA is a good start.
Why are you wasting money on booze when you could be spending it on cigarettes?
find an alternative, maybe. hope you like coca cola.

Sounds like you need someone to talk to about issues that started at the age of 16. If you have a good medical insurance speak to your Dr. about counceling. (Private counceling.) You may be able to get rid of the drinking at the same time. You are drinking more of the weekends. I'm wondering if this is because your lonely?
you try to divert your mind in some other areas which interest you. first try to make list of all the things that you are interested in doing never mind about whether it is practically possible just make a list then you will be able to decide on what will best suit you.
Does it interfear with your job?
Does it hurt your family or social relations?
Is it taking a toll on your finacial situation?
If yes, I think you should get help soon. If no, I'm still concerned for you because you feel guilty. I usualy have a beer after dinner maybe 4 times a week, your consumption lvl isn't "that bad". But if it's making you feel bad you should cut back or cut it out.
A group like AA might help you, or try a private councler or therapist. There is no shame in asking for help.
Well Ava. You have choices every day to live or die. And you and I both know if you have to ask the question, YOU DO HAVE A PROBLEM. After you wake up not knowing why you spent the night at the "NO-TELL MOTEL", it will be too late.
1. GET BACK TO AA TODAY
2. TELL YOUR HUSBAND AND ASK FOR HIS HELP AND SUPPORT
3. GET TO CHURCH EVERY DAY IF POSSIBLE
Good Luck
If you are drinking to the point of having a hangover and feeling guilty, you are drinking too much. There is nothing wrong with drinking as long as you control it. Set yourself a limit that is under your hangover limit and don't drink more than that.
It is not how many drinks you drink, but how many your body can tolerate. My husband has a friend who drinks two to my husband's one, but he is larger and whenever my husband tries to keep up he always get way drunker than his friend. He finally learned that "keeping up" is not necessarily the smart way to drink.
I have never had this problem, but I know when I have had enough and I never feel like I have to drink. I may have a glass of wine with dinner and that's on occasion. If you have been drinking since you were 16 and now drink regularly, then YES, you do have a problem. See if you can go without drinking and if you can't, then I would go back to AA. It could end up getting worse. You are so young and life is too short. You should go see a doctor and let them know about your stomach aches. It could be an ulcer or something more serious. Keep in mind, the more you drink the greater chances you have of developing cancer of the liver also known as Cirrhosis. Not to mention difficulties in relationships and with your friends and family. Good Luck!
hello, YES, your drinking is beyond social drinking, ..social drinking is when you only drink once a week when you go to dinner you have a glass of wine,,but your drinking, is excessive drinking, everyday.. too much.. you're still young, and you will see that every time you will raise the BAR, other words, you will try to drink more, and more, so, the time to stop is now before it get to be too much to the point that you have to get help,, at that point it will be hard to stop.. DO IT NOW,, TRY WILL POWER. and if you see it doesn't work,, drink socially, WILL POWER. READ BOOKS THE BIBLE. just to keep your mind busy,
I do think that it's a problem, especially being that you say you can't stop. That's what you need to worry about. And as far as not drinking like the stereotypical alcoholic, you don't need to get sloshed every night to be an alcoholic. There are some alcoholics that have only one drink a day. See your Dr.
yea u dont need alot of help but only a lil
you need help
If you think it's a problem and it needs to stop you should get help. AA or otherwise.
I don't think there is anything wrong with going to AA if your not a hardcore alchoholic. You still obviously an alchoholic if you're drinking every day and getting drunk every weekend.
If you don't like AA then I'd suggest telling freinds of family members, if they know it's a problem for you they will most likely go out of thier way to help you stop.
drinking problem
I wish I could help you, but I really don't know what you should do since I never drink. I guess you just have to quit drinking in some ways. don't know how
Hope you will find a way to solve this problem soon
*hugs*
it's not dumb to seek help. try aa. if you want suport try me dogmicjoe@yahoo.com. go look at yahoo search engines to search for support groups.
What do you drink? If it is beer then cut back to some of that non-alcoholic crap during the week, and if it is mixed drinks try to add more coke, juice etc.
You won't stop right away, but it would be a start.
The problem lies in something other than your drinking, are you not able to have fun with the hubby and friends and feel like you have to drink to keep up?
If so, you might need to get your own hobbies instead of going out on the weekends.
alot of times people use alcohol to hide other problems they are having if you are not comfortable with aa try a therapist
