looking for an extensive outpatient program for adolescent who has been sexually abused for 6-7 years?

victim is 16 year old
we live in staunton virginia and would be willing to travel up to 40 miles in any direction

we have been unsucessful in finding an inpatient facility for 30-60 day intensive treatment, that will take an adolescent that has not reverted to drugs, alcohol or violence.

Answers:
Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. :( I hope she gets the help she needs and deserves!

I would travel a thousand miles for this. You might need to leave her in a facility somewhere farther away and explain why you are doing it. I hope they caught the monster(s?) who did this - its despicable.

you will probably have to send her away somewhere. the willow springs treatment center in Reno is a good one. i was actually hospitalized there when i was 15. she just needs to be a strong girl and move on with her life. don't let whoever it was ruin anything else for her.

Typically adolescents only qualify for residential treatment if they have demonstrated risky, danger to self or danger to others DTS/DTO behaviors.

Check with a local behavioral health clinic for someone who specializes with victim and trauma issues, if they don't have have the resource they can usually refer you to one.
