I'm sorry that people aren't giving you good answers. Please, go to my profile for answers and look at my last question I posted. Maybe something that someone told me might help you. Good luck!
you get used to it. it's like slipping into old slippers. or you can get a shrink.. or meds.
Get off here and go out and meet some real people ,hope you OK xx
Talk to a friend. And if you don't have a friend, meet one through a social organization.
I used paxil once, It wasnt even on it for a year, but it brought me out of my slump and helped me get over whatever it was that was bringing me down.
Just dont let it go long, its like a serious injury that if you dont treat it, it will progress and make that area of the body impossible to use.
Just be sure you treat it! Talk with a dr that you are comfortabel with, and one who wont over medicate you!! Maybe look up typical Rx amounts online and see what your dr have you. If youre not comfortabel with it, contact another physician.its your life and body, its your right.
Get out, meet people, socialise, have a drink (but only in moderation), don't take pills, find something you like and get fully involved in - Sports, Games, Scuba diving, fishing, sky diving, anything that will give you a buzz and get the adrenaline going
You need to ignore most of the answers first !! Depression can only be (handled) with medication. Only your doctor can give you the right one for you. I know because i have been there. With the right meds you will look back and say (did i do that or did i say that)------good luck!!
You don't have live with it. Go to a counsellor but leave before you become dependent. Do things even though you don't"feel" like doing them. Good luck.
firstly, everyone is different, there are no set rules or timescales. don't listen to anyone who 'tells' you to do something, you are your own person. remembering you have ownership of yourself is very important, you may feel those around you or your doctors knows best, wrong, you know you better than anyone. I have been depressed since I was 18, I am now 24. I have been on and off medication and in and out of counselling and psychiatric help. at different point as I have wanted different things, sometimes my aims are high, others it was just getting out of bed. Make sure you keep fit, the endorphins released during exercise make you feel fab, you will also like your body more if you are fit. I like to swim, gives me time on my own to think about my troubles as I swim, I get out of the pool and leave my troubles in there. I have so many things I have tried, I wont list them all here as, if you are like me your attention span will be low at the moment. email me on jvwitney@yahoo.co.uk if you need any help. keep on hanging on.
Most of the time depression is caused by mineral deficiencies. I had a friend that "had" sever bi-polar disorder. She spent time in and out of hospitals trying to get the depression under control. After many years of me insisting that she had mineral deficiencies she finally went to a doctor here in Raleigh named, Dr.John Pittman. He drew blood and found that she was very low on many minerals. He gave her mineral IV's weekly for several months and she is now off the psych. medication. He did not take her off of these, she just couldn't afford them one month and didn't fill the prescription. She was afraid of what would happen with out the medication, so she waited for several months for her world to crash, but instead she felt better and better. She has not been back to him for the IV minerals for over 8 months and is starting to feel the depression and the aches returning. That would be my first suggestion. GET SOME HIGH QUALITY MINERALS IN YOU A.S.A.P. Go to Whole Foods or The Vitamin Shoppe, or call this doctor for the IV's.
I used to feel it was simple, get out and get on with it.. Now having experienced it I am a bit more realistic about it. First you need your Dr's help and understanding. Take the tablets he/she prescribes and try hard to believe you will get better. Remember you are important and can return to dealing with what life throws at you. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and therefore needs treated and like lots of medical treatments it can take a long time to see a difference. Good Luck . If you feel no one cares, please remember I care
Talk to someone about it
seek professional help
dont feel ashamed or weak
dont sleep late in the mornings(the mornings are the worst) and you have to get up sometime
good luck and best love to you
Have you tried councelling, it worked wonders for me. contact your local gp and ask there advice. they will be able to put you in touch with someone in your local area. Please dont listen to the idiots posting irresponsible replies
some people do dish out pointless advice at times. I have suffered from depression for years. At first I did think I was just wired up wrong. I took medication and it fixed the problem. I am still on the medication but as time has gone on I am starting to understand that a lot of my depression is caused by my own negative thinking. I think that you should consider the medication option but at the same time search on the net for cognitive behavioral therapy. Its something I am considering to do with the hope of coming of my medication.
