Will having long hair cause me baldness when I'm older?

I've had long hair for about 2 years, but it seems like it's becoming weak, it comes out a lot when I shower and brush it. I'm worried as to whether that matters at all to when I'm older and if it means that I'll have significant hair loss later on?

Answers:
no' I'm older and have long 17" long all my life. your DNA is what causes your hair to be what it is.
it will not, long hair is harder to maintain as you need to apply condition regularly
no
I don't think the length of your hair has any effect. Male pattern baldness is a genetic thing. As your male ancestors' hair grew (or didn't), so will yours. Just keeping it clean and brushed is all you can do to keep it healthy.
