Are there cases of bone metastases which are not painful?

A male patient has primary breast cancer which metastasized to the bones and I just want to know if indeed bone pain is an absolute part of the problem.

Answers:
Probably not. Bones are covered by the periosteum which protects the bone but also allows blood flow etc. If it is stretched or is broken, the nerve endngs are very very good at sending out pain signals and this is considerably painful. Thats' why orthopedic surgeons say that the pain won't completely go away after being medcated after surgery.
