I dont't think that there is anything wrong with it. It depends on what you are your sexual partner prefer. I don't recommend you shaving completely, just because when it grows back it reallt itches. But trimming is perfectly natural, and yes, lots of men do it. My man does it, it makes it more desirable for me to go down there if i know that i won't get a face full of hair. I did it once and i didnt like it, when it begins to grow back your always scratching down there. as for socially acceptible its up to you and your girl i guess and it may be a little weird but other than you and your girl whose really going to see.

You don't want a forest growing down there so I say go ahead and trim it, but don't go completly bald or make it look like you just got a fresh bikini wax. Use some Wahl hair clippers that should do it. They have some dingle ling clippers you can buy but I don't know the name of them

now..the shaving on the arm pits...I dont know but a lot of men do it this days. And they arent gay. I dont' know at least on my perspective I think is great men are taking care of themselves.

1 - Socially correct to who? the only person that will really care is your partner - woman or man - what ever the case may be. Its your body you decide what you do with it and to it.
2 - No its not weird. A lot of men do it, both straight and gay. There may be many reasons why this is done, the main one is for sex and not everybody shaves, you can also do some trim jobs on your pub area. Some of the answers you were given on this site say "it means your gay" WRONG. Beign Straight/Gay is not what you do, is who you are - and neither is weird.
Hey, don't listen to any of those closed minded fools that say shaving is "gay." I shave. I'm a very strong male. I think its cleaner. My girl loves it. and it makes your prick look better. Essentially, it's up to you. If you are mature enough to bring up the question, it seems like you are ready. Try it out. You may itch a bit when the hair starts to come back. My husband shaves because I like it better than way and so do I and I am a woman so therefore men dont just do it cause there gay.THE REASON I have dental floss I dont need hair for that.I think its sick that men dont shave.It something that is getting very common.Alot of our friends and there spouse do it to.Try it and im sure the girl will wanna go down town more.:)~
It is completely alright. I will say it has significant downsides... Most girls do not like it. As much as you would think "hmm i generally like less hair in the way" it *generally* does not work the same way for females, as body hair is a very masculine thing and as long as you are not growing a giant arboretum down there, it is attractive rather than repulsive.
2) It is VERY hard to maintain a completely shaved pubic area. Ask any female that does it. It takes constant attention and a careful hand to keep it completely clean. And if you are just going for the shaved down look (aka the porn norm) then you will have to be careful for the first week or so, as you will be full of pointy stubbles that will irritate both yourself and your partner. Now, maintaining it at that height has its advantages too. It's generally cleaner and neater, as well as, in theory, adding a visual 1/2 inch. Now that last one is debated, but it is a upside most people know about.
Personally, there is nothing wrong with shaving down there. I trim myself, so i feel that trimming to a short, neat and even thickness is the way to go. But do whatever you want, because growing it too "overgrown" is just as bad as the downsides of being completely shaven, IMHO.

Being socially correct or incorrect is irrelevant in this instance since no-one but you, and perhaps your "nearest & dearest", is going to see that you've shaved down there. Some people might think it's weird, but at the end of the day it's a matter of personal preference and what you feel comfortable with. I shaved about an hour ago and I feel really clean and smooth. I can't say that I give a damn about what other people might think.
