do i need a doctor?
ok. this is gonna be discusting but i saw some blood in my defacation today. first what the hell does that mean. and two what do i do about it?

yes, you need to see a doctor, but NO, I would not WORRY until you DO see a doctor. Blood in the feces can mean many things. It could simply be a tear in your anus. It could be anal fissures. It could be so many things, serious and not so serious. Don't wait. See a doctor b/c I know that the unknown is so much worse than the known. Meaning, you will sit there and worry about it until you find out that it is nothing to worry about. But, better safe, then sorry, right?
Could be a sign of cancer. See your doctor ASAP.
You may have hemorrhoids or polyps, need to be seen by your family doctor. A excellent web site for symptoms is webmd.com
If you saw a small amount of frank (red) blood, then it's most likely something like a hemorrhoid. If your stool was very dark or black, then that would indicate more severe problems. You should in any case have a doctor check it out.
If you see a large amount of blood lost, not just a few drops, go to the ER or urgent care clinic, just to be safe.
Next time you go, check your tissue and see if you are wiping blood off around your hole. If so-hemorroids or maybe just cracked skin that will heal up if you don't wipe too hard. If no blood on the tissue, it is internal which is mandatory for seeing a doctor asap.
