prozac! does it work ok for mild depression?

or isnt it worth taking if the side effects can be so bad?

Answers:
try natural forms of treatment before you get drug intervention on your neuro-chemical balance.

i work as a clinical hypnotherapist and have helped numerous people sucessfully with mild and deep depression.

Get moving! Get active, and don;t sit still for too long with a bad posture. You can change the way you feel by the way you carry yourself.

Listen to music that you like, remember times that made you laugh and spend time mixing with people that are good to be around. Its more fun than popping pills, trust me!

Good luck with it!

yes it does.
for the best answer to that question ask a doctor
Yeah sum time it will fukkked up even more!
If you use a quarter of tablet? Yeah!
Go to webmd.com they have information on all kinds of drugs and possible side affects. I've heard that prozac is a good one to start with. Most side affects usually go away within one to two weeks. If you need something for help .. and the Doctor prescribes it . why not give it a try ? Good luck ! :)
I was on it, didn't seem to work. Just roll your sleeves up and battle through it mate
I took it for mild depression, it was fine with me.

All drugs can cause side effects, but it doesnt mean you Will get them, justthat you MAY get them.

Prozac has had bad press in the past, but the drug has been improved and a lot less people suffer side effects.
the side effects are not too bad, and yes it is worth taking
get out side and do some excersize

Depends on your metabolizm. I had depression after a heart attack a few years ago and was put on prozac. After 3 days, I was a zombie. Drove my car home from work without realizing I was driving, sat in my drive for 15 minutes until hubby came out to see if I was ok. I didnt realize I was even home.
It is worth taking under supervision for a period.

I did not find it at all good- it actually made my mood swings worse, and I ended up throwing my pills down the toilet.

I have a feeling that doctors subscribe Prozac because they haven´t the time to really look inot the causes of your depression, believing that it´s better than doing nothing

But if you are suffering from mild depression it would be better for you to look over your life and see what changes you can effect to improve it in the long term. This is often easiest with theassistance of a therapist.
Yes of course but most antidepressants take time to have their full effect. All have some side effects but discuss with your doctor.
Give it about 4 to 6 weeks before doing so unless side effects are really troublesome. It's the old story, balancing benefits v. risks/side-effects
Believe me, if one is sane, one should avoid prozac or such stuff - it disbalances God given chemicals to survive, while rumor has it prozac has some very, very, very serious side effects. thanks. anjum
their are some bad side affects tiredness +causes hairloss
Yes, but get some therapy too, you need to deal with the cause of your depression to stop it happening again.
I have used it, but the side affects we're awful. Worse than the depression. I had the uncontrollable shakes, was very jittery and paranoid. It's not something you can ask your doc for anyway, he'll/she'll decide which pills are best suited to you if any. I think counselling should be the first course of action with depression.
Don't know about Prozc but if you're worried about taking prescribed drugs why not try St Johns Wart to start with, a herbal remedy for depression. Don't use it if you're on the contraceptive pill though as it stops it from working. Maybe check with your doctor first if on the pill.
