First of all; herpes are contagious, and yes ,your sexual partner should be aware of your situation so she can protect herself from this STD! I would first of all educate yourself on herpes and its longterm effects, and how to still have a happy & healthy relationship! Just because you have herpes does not mean your life has to change, it just means that you need to be more careful when engaging in sex and not to be careless enough to infect your partner! If you have both been having sex together then I would say that you need to go to a local STI (STD) clinic ASAP..Also even if you have not been having sex together, you need to get yourself there urgent !!
