Don’t feel guilty about it, it’s your body and it’s fun.
Just don’t announce it to the world, some things are better left private :) Everyone does it, people just don’t talk about it! This is copied and pasted, but it has a ton of info! Hope this helps!

Masturbation is quite common in young children. In most cases, it is considered a natural, normal behavior in children of all ages. Children often begin masturbating at around eighteen months of age. Masturbation tends to peak when children are between the ages of three and five. It then declines in frequency until puberty.
Many parents are surprised and/or shocked to find their children masturbating. Parents should keep in mind that masturbation generally causes no physical harm to their children. In most cases, problems result only when adults overreact.
For parents to deal with their children’s masturbation they must know when it is normal and when it might indicate some underlying problem.
Why Children Masturbate
*Pleasure. Children learn very quickly that it feels good to masturbate.
*Self-soothing. For many children, masturbation reduces tension. These children may masturbate when they are upset, tired, bored, or feeling stress.
*Exploration. Many children will masturbate as part of the natural curiosity they have about their bodies.
What Parents Can Do
*Ignore it. Masturbation is, after all, a normal behavior for most children. Parents can best handle it by treating it matter-of-factly. Parents shouldn’t try to get their children to stop masturbating by punishing, threatening or scolding. If they do, they run the risk of giving their children the idea that their genitals are bad and/or dirty.
*Remain calm. Parents should try not to overreact. They should also keep in mind that no physical harm will come to their children as a result of masturbation. If parents overreact, they may put fear into their children about their bodies.
*Don’t be surprised. Masturbation among young children is very common, and quite normal.
When Children Masturbate in Public Places
Masturbation is something that should be done in private. Most young children, however, don’t know the difference between public and private behaviors. In these cases, children must be taught. Parents should treat public masturbation as they would any other behavior that is not acceptable in public places, for example, nose picking. Here are some specific things that can be done to minimize masturbation in public places.
*Explain. If parents discover their children masturbating in a public place, they should tell their children that is something that should be done only in private, for example, in the children’s bedroom or the bathroom. Parents should use words like, “It’s all right to do that in the bathroom or the bedroom, but not in the grocery store or when other people are around.” Parents should try not to criticize, nag, or punish their children. They should treat the behavior matter-of-factly.
*Offer alternatives. Parents should provide their children with something else to do with their hands while they are in public. They could also try to distract their children from masturbating by suggesting some other activity.
*Be consistent. If children, for example, masturbate while they are at day care, parents should work out a solution with their children’s day care provider. It is important that the behavior be treated in the same way by parents and by other care providers.
When to Seek Help
On rare occasions, children’s masturbation habits may be an indicator of other problems. Parents should consult their children’s health care provider if:
*Children’s masturbation interferes with their social interactions.
*Techniques to eliminate public masturbation have failed.
*Parents have any concerns about their children’s well being.
*Parents feel that their children are possibly not masturbating, but scratching or rubbing the genital area because of discomfort. It may be possible that such children have an infection or a rash.
*Masturbation is constant.
Parents should keep in mind that in most cases, masturbation is a common, normal behavior in children. Very rarely is it an indicator of some other problem.

·It’s normal for young children to explore their bodies — TRUE

Kids are naturally curious and according to childhood specialists, exploring their bodies is just part of growing up.
Masturbation is the self-stimulation of the genitals to achieve sexual arousal and pleasure, usually to the point of orgasm (sexual climax). It is commonly done by touching, stroking or massaging the penis or clitoris until an orgasm is achieved. Some women also use stimulation of the vagina to masturbate or use “sex toys,” such as a vibrator.
Who Masturbates?
Just about everybody. Masturbation is a very common behavior, even among people who have sexual relations with a partner. In one national study, 95% of males and 89% of females reported that they have masturbated. Masturbation is the first sexual act experienced by most males and females. In young children, masturbation is a normal part of the growing child’s exploration of his or her body. Most people continue to masturbate in adulthood, and many do so throughout their lives.
Why Do People Masturbate?
In addition to feeling good, masturbation is a good way of relieving the sexual tension that can build up over time, especially for people without partners or whose partners are not willing or available for sex. Masturbation also is a safe sexual alternative for people who wish to avoid pregnancy and the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. It also is necessary when a man must give a semen sample for infertility testing or for sperm donation. When sexual dysfunction is present in an adult, masturbation may be prescribed by a sex therapist to allow a person to experience an orgasm (often in women) or to delay its arrival (often in men).
Is Masturbation Normal?
While it once was regarded as a perversion and a sign of a mental problem, masturbation now is regarded as a normal, healthy sexual activity that is pleasant, fulfilling, acceptable and safe. It is a good way to experience sexual pleasure and can be done throughout life.
Masturbation is only considered a problem when it inhibits sexual activity with a partner, is done in public, or causes significant distress to the person. It may cause distress if it is done compulsively and/or interferes with daily life and activities.

Is Masturbation Harmful?
In general, the medical community considers masturbation to be a natural and harmless expression of sexuality for both men and women. It does not cause any physical injury or harm to the body, and can be performed in moderation throughout a person’s lifetime as a part of normal sexual behavior. Some cultures and religions oppose the use of masturbation or even label it as sinful. This can lead to guilt or shame about the behavior.
Some experts suggest that masturbation can actually improve sexual health and relationships. By exploring your own body through masturbation, you can determine what is erotically pleasing to you and can share this with your partner. Some partners use mutual masturbation to discover techniques for a more satisfying sexual relationship and to add to their mutual intimacy.

Masturbation Myths
All of these are taken from http://www.jackinworld.com.
Myth: Masturbation is for kids.Truth: Masturbation is for everyone — teenagers and adults. In fact, most adults masturbate. Even most males who have been married for 10 years or more masturbate regularly, some nearly as often as when they were teens.
Myth: Hardly anyone masturbates.Truth: Well over 90% of teen males masturbate regularly, and about 98% of adults report they’ve masturbated at some time in their lives.
Myth: Only males masturbate.Truth: About two-thirds of adult women masturbate at least occasionally, although most females begin to masturbate at a later age than most males.
Myth: Only losers masturbate.Truth: Losers are guys who go and get their girlfriends pregnant, then either have to get married or pay for an abortion, or — the biggest losers of all — run away from the situation. Masturbation helps you develop a healthy, responsible sex life without hurting anyone. Therefore, masturbation is for winners!
Myth: Only homosexuals masturbate.Truth: Another favorite among the “I don’t need to masturbate, I get real sex” crowd. The truth is, most of these knock-‘em-dead studs go home and masturbate, whether they have sexual partners or not. Then they feel guilty for masturbating (and maybe having a couple of gay fantasies along the way), so they try to get everyone else to feel guilty for masturbating, too. Stupid!
Myth: Masturbation causes hair to grow on your palms.Truth: How many people with hair on their palms have you seen?
Myth: Masturbation causes hair loss, chronic fatigue, and other problems.Truth: Internet scam artists have tried to invent a concept called “overmasturbation,” insisting that you have to buy their expensive herbal pills in order to counteract the effect of masturbating more than a couple of times per week. But the pills have absolutely no effect — and masturbating once or twice a day will not make your hair fall out, or cause anything else they claim.
Myth: Masturbation is bad for your eyesight.Truth: Masturbation does not affect eyesight. This myth probably originated because boys often start having to wear glasses at about the same age they start masturbating.
Myth: Masturbation causes your penis to stop growing (or) to get bigger.Truth: Masturbation has no effect on penis size whatsoever.
Myth: Masturbation causes acne.Truth: It doesn’t cause acne. Like the eyesight myth, this is a case of two things that happen at the same time, even though one doesn’t cause the other.
Myth: Masturbation causes cancer.Truth: Absolutely false!
Myth: Masturbation causes sexually transmitted diseases.Truth: Hello? “Sexually transmitted” means from one person to another. You can’t give yourself a sexually transmitted disease!
Myth: If you masturbate too much, you’ll run out of semen and become sterile.Truth: Semen is a fully renewable resource. When you ejaculate semen, your body simply makes more — the same way your body makes more saliva after you spit.
Myth: People can tell whether you masturbate by how your penis looks.Truth: Masturbation does not change the appearance of your penis. (It does tend to cause an erection, but that usually goes away when you’re finished.)

Female Masturbation: Taboo or To Do?
Our society of today is so obsessed with sex as it appears to be going through yet another sexual revolution, yet one topic still remains somewhat taboo amongst our society: the subject of masturbation.Masturbation is widely accepted as a norm for men; but for women, it seems to be few and far between. Women will often shy away from the mere mention of masturbation because of the negative connotation our society places on female masturbation. Male masturbation is ubiquitous and a supposed natural part of life. Many men masturbate merely to relieve stress or tension, rather than for the sexual gratification. Female masturbation, however, is more than just a relief of stress, because there is more of a focus on the actual sexual feelings behind it. Female masturbation, though, may be even healthier than male masturbation, as it allows a woman to fully know herself. Women are anatomically far more complex than men, and it takes some exploring to understand the female pleasure.
Masturbation as an exploratory technique is actually a good idea for many women who complain that they can’t achieve orgasm. Women should explore themselves and find out where they like to be touched to get in touch with their sexuality, which is a healthy part of a person. Also, women shouldn’t rely on men for their sexual gratification or to make themselves feel worthy. Taking a nice bubble bath can be a nice “foreplay” to masturbation, as it allows the woman to take a look inside herself. Female masturbation is a good way to understand how your body works so that you may better enjoy sex when you are in a committed relationship. ~Tara L. Gleditschtop

Female Masturbation: Tricks of the Trade
Female Masturbation Tricks The first trick is very obvious, get know your body. No one can tell you what to do or how to do it when it comes to your body. Everyone’s body is different and even the erogenous zones respond differently to different stimulation. There is no shame or harm in masturbating, period. Masturbating can actually be very good for your body. It helps to relax you after a stressful day, makes you aware of your body in case something should start to go wrong, and it gives you more power. After all, you don’t need a guy to make you feel good anymore! Once you know your body and what spots are your favorite, you can better direct a future lover when you are ready to engage in physical acts with someone else. Get over any fears about your body, relax, turn on some soothing music, lock the door, get naked and learn about your own skin first hand. Taking a long, hot bath and exploring yourself is always a good place to start because you know you won’t be bothered. Also, always wash your hands (and under nails) before you put them anywhere to prevent any infections. Your vagina does clean itself regularly and is very acidic to prevent bacteria from causing problems, but you should always clean your hands before playing. Masturbation will never work if you are not relaxed and have a good deal of time to dedicate to it. If you are masturbating for the first (or first-ish) time you might not be able to reach orgasm right away. You should be able to make yourself feel good and find some spots you like to touch. Imagination is VERY important in masturbating when you start. Put yourself in any situation that arouses you while you explore; there is nothing wrong with a little imagination. If it helps, light some candles or read a romance novel to put you in the mood.
The Mirror If you have a hand mirror that you can prop up to watch yourself or just view your vagina, it might be helpful. Look up female anatomy and get to know the areas of the vagina by their proper names and find them on yourself. This will help you in the future, as well. You do not have to KEEP the mirror there but it will help you understand your special make up. Every vagina IS different and there is no “normal” or “abnormal”. Just like everyone’s body type is different, there is nothing wrong with you. There is nothing icky or disgusting about the vagina even though you might think it is the most unattractive thing in the world. You and it are going to be together for a VERY long time so you should get acquainted. It is a part of you as you are a part of it and some of the most wonderful things come from this area such as the birth of children and, of course, the ever popular orgasm.
Smell A healthy vagina smells. That’s about all there is. Everyone will smell different; some strong, some sweet. It is not necessary to taste your vaginal fluids (but no harm in doing it). Your healthy vagina is cleaner than your mouth whether you think so or not. Some women do not like their smell, and the smell can be altered through diet. However you view your smell, it’s good to get an idea of how your smell so if something goes wrong, you can tell. One of the first signs of infection (like a yeast infection) is a strange odor followed by a strange discharge of vaginal fluids. To be able to recognize these things you will have to know a little about yourself.
Orgasm You certainly do not need to orgasm to enjoy yourself or masturbate. Masturbation is not always about the orgasm as it might be for guys. Masturbation is about feeling good and relaxing, and coming to climax (aka orgasm) does not need to happen for you to feel good. There is no way to describe an orgasm and each orgasm is different. Some are quick, some come hard, some seem short; they are all different depending on you and your mood. But, once you have an orgasm you will know. It’s like getting your period for the first time. There is no way to describe it, but, when you have it. . you KNOW.
Vaginal Excretions Once you become aroused, your vagina will start to excrete lubrication and you should be able to feel yourself getting “wet”. It’s not really water that comes out but a more mucus based substance that will be vaguely oily and smell. This substance is to help aid in your comfort during sex by providing natural lubrication when the penis enters the vagina. This excretion is perfectly normal. It might even start to happen when you are thinking about something sexy when daydreaming and excretions can occur when you are not aroused as a natural cleaning device used by the vagina. All in all, perfectly normal.
Your Skin Back to the basics. Once naked, get to know your skin. Rub your hands over you arms, tummy, thighs and shoulders. Give yourself a little massage and discover how it feels to be touched all over. You could even get a good body lotion and use it very thoroughly over yourself. Not only will you have felt your skin; you will be nice and moisturized. Few women take time to appreciate their body, curves and skin.
The Breasts The nipples tend to be sensitive with some girls, and not with others. I, for the life of me, cannot stimulate my own nipples. But, I never neglect my breasts while imagining my lover touching them. The skin around the nipple is sensitive and so is the rest of your breast. See what turns you on. It’s also good to get to know your breasts and feel them because in the future, you could be at risk for breast cancer (and knowing your breasts will enable you to realize if there are any lumps or other abnormalities).
Clitoral Stimulation The clitoris is located at the top of your vagina; it should be easy to find, and it can be very sensitive. When aroused, blood flow is increased here and you can probably feel a little knob that feels good when touched. It is actually sheathed in a small piece of skin that can be pulled back. Some girls are more sensitive than others, you might not be able to directly stimulate the clitoris. Here are some things to try either by themselves or in combination: Circular rub – Take your first two fingers and place them over top of you clitoris, at the top of your vagina. Then begin moving them in a circular motion over top of the clitoris. You can vary the speed and pressure and move up and down if your prefer. It is the easiest way to reach orgasm. Move your fingers around into an area that feels the best for you. Rolling – Place your thumb and forefinger around the clitoris once you are aroused. Gently roll it in between your fingers. If the stimulation is too much, back off. If you like it, vary the pressure and speed of which you roll. This is not good for girls who are too sensitive, however; if it feels too intense, just move your fingers away. Tapping – This technique not for everyone. Pull the lips of the vagina back out of the way so that the clitoris and vagina are very exposed. Lightly begin tapping gently on the clitoris until you feel pressure building. It might be hard to reach orgasm, but it is possible with some girls. Women Love Water There are tools around your house you can probably use to your advantage. The first is water. We all take baths and showers and now you can make them more fun for yourself. Remember, cold water produces a different feeling than warm water and you can adjust between the two whenever you like. Here are some tricks: Bath Time – Before you fill the tub, sit with your bottom all the way under the faucet (if you can). Run the water so it flows between your legs over you vagina. It’s a good idea to make sure it’s not to hot or cold before you get under it. The water should stimulate your clitoris and you can reach orgasm. Adjust the water pressure and temperature as your please. Shower Time – If you happen to be lucky enough to have a shower with a massage head, you are set for life. You can adjust the head on such things as “needle spray” and “massage” and if the head is long enough you can use it on yourself. Run the water over you clitoris and vagina, use your other hand to open your vagina or put your leg up (don’t fall over, though!) on the bathtub rim. Adjust the water temperature and speed. I find it best to loop the shower head behind me and press it to my vagina, but it us up to what you like. Jacuzzi– If you have access to a Jacuzzi or pool you can take advantage of the jets. The pressure is not up to you to adjust and it can be very powerful so you need to take your time. Start at a safe distance and move closer aiming the jet at your clitoris and vagina until you find the right spot. When you are at the perfect distance let the jets do the work. Penetration and the G-SpotPenetration refers to you going inside your vagina opening. The clitoris is still the most easy and common source of orgasms for most women. It’s right there; once you know it you can reach orgasm in a matter of minutes or seconds. Some women prefer not to go into the vagina and it is not necessary. However, some women orgasm from penetration alone and some use penetration and clitoral stimulation at once. Lo and behold, this is an area full of goodness. Remember, this is the area the penis enters when having sex so it is full of nerve endings that produce many, many good feelings. If you can learn your body and how to trigger them you will understand the power of sex and might even refrain from having sex too early. Virgins and Penetration If you are a virgin and you finger yourself, you are still a virgin. However, you can break your hymen, which might cause some bleeding. This is normal when the hymen breaks. Some girls don’t even bleed. Yes, you are still a virgin if your hymen is broken. Losing your virginity means you had a penis penetrate your vagina. Some cultures believe if the hymen is broken that the female is not a virgin. However, the hymen can be broken for a number of reasons at any time in your life from birth on due to sports or just the normal day-to-day activities of life. Some girls decide to get rid of the hymen themselves rather than deal with it later. There is no danger in doing this and it is a personal preference. The hymen is one of life’s mysteries, no one really knows what the purpose of it is or was (it is likened to the appendix or tonsils). If you are worried, don’t penetrate. Or, if you are curious, go slowly. Remember, it’s only you here. You can tell yourself ‘no’. Going In Make sure you wash your hands. Make sure you are well lubricated, as well (either naturally or with an over-the-counter lubricant like KY). I tend to give myself a clitoral orgasm to make sure I am nice and wet or at least play with myself before attempting penetration. If you happen to have long fingernails you will want to be extra careful because the skin inside and around your vagina can be very tender. Make sure there are no snags on your nails. It can be awkward to reach your own vagina, so, either sit up or put your legs in the air and reach behind your thigh. You might have to work to find a position that works for you. To find your vagina opening, run your fingers from the top of your vagina down until you feel a depression or hole. With a little pressure, you should slip inside yourself. You might notice your anus is located only a few inches away from your vagina. If you reach your anus move up a little and apply pressure to find your vaginal opening. If you plan to play around or in your anal cavity, you MUST wash your hands before entering the vagina. Start slow. Your vagina is designed to spit out a baby but it takes a little time. Use one finger first. I find moving in and out slowly coats the finger with your natural lubricant and makes everything easier. Don’t just try to push your finger in all at once. Go slow. Inside and the G-Spot Once in, the key is to experiment. You might be able to find a rough patch toward the top of the inside of the vagina canal that is the g-spot. You should notice a texture change. Move your finger in and out of your vagina at different speeds and try different angles. It’s all about exploration. Play with your clitoris while fingering yourself and just enjoy the sensations. Try another finger or the fingers of your other hand when you get more comfortable. A Work On Using Toys Some girls like the feeling of penetration so much they look for things to insert into the vagina for pleasure. It’s not the best idea to use household objects for penetration. You don’t know how clean they are, and some bit of it may become lodged in your vagina (gynecologist get loads of women with things stuck that need to be removed). If you feel the need to get a sexual toy and are under 18, you might want to check with a doctor first. Find a gynecologist or go to a sexual heath clinic for advice. They love these types of questions and should answer you honestly and fairly. If you make a trip to an adult store or go online to purchase something, I suggest, if you must, get a small vibrator with a battery to use on your clitoris. This takes the work out of rubbing, rolling and fingering and you can reach orgasm quicker and possibly more. Just remember to clean it every time. If you want something for penetration then you will need to get a dildo. You don’t need anything fancy, but, the dildo is designed to fit safely into the vagina. Regardless of what anyone says, it is the safest thing to use. Don’t use a makeup brush, vegetable or candle stick. Adult stores have a VARIETY of toys of different sizes, textures and colors (if that matters) and one will suit you. Once you get a toy and use it you MUST clean it EVERY time you use it and store it somewhere where it will not get dirty or pick up bacteria. You don’t want foreign agents in your body causing infections. A dirty toy is a DANGEROUS toy. You might also have to hide it from parents or siblings so you need to have a good, safe place in mind. A toy does not mean you are sexually active, but some parents would prefer you not to have any because it makes them feel you are planning to have sex. If you get a toy and use it you might also want to make an appointment at the gynecologist. Since things are now being inserted into you vagina, it is a good idea to get checked out yearly by a doctor. If problems arise, you always know who to call, too. A Masturbation-Related News Flash
Health officials in San Francisco have issued a public warning about a rare, new sexually transmitted disease, one that could have the potential to do serious damage to the health of many sexually-active young people. The warning is important to include in a discussion of masturbation, because the disease is a form of Chlamydia, and Chlamydia can be spread by fingers, as well as by sexual contact. The disease that is the focus of the warning is called Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV). LGV differs from the more common form of Chlamydia because it can cause the scarring of the genitals and colon. It can also cause the lymph glands near the groin to swell or burst. Until recently, LGV had been seen in only the poor, tropical regions of the world. Then during a 17-month period, one that ended in September of 2004, doctors in Rotterdam, a city in the Netherlands, reported seeing 92 cases of LGV. A few cases of LGV have also been reported in Belgium, France, Sweden and Atlanta. Most recently, four LGV patients, all gay men, were treated by doctors in San Francisco. The doctors are concerned, because none of these four men had traveled to the Netherlands. Therefore, the health officials suspect that there are other cases of LGV within the population of San Francisco. The doctors issued their health warning in order to hasten the speed with which these additional cases of LGV could be detected. Some of the four men already identified as having LGV have tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. by Sue Chehrenegar

One for the Guys: Masturbation
Over the last few weeks, RealSexEdFacts.com has received many questions on the subject of male masturbation. As this happens to be one of my favorite hobbies (apparently I’ve done it so much I’m some sort of an expert.), the staff here sent those questions on to me. Without further ado:Q: Is there a specific way to masturbate?A: Generally, I find that it helps to have a firm grip. Seriously, though, masturbation is just like any other kind of sexual activity. Try doing it in different ways. Experiment a little, and discover what you like. I vary my technique depending on my mood, my energy level, and how much time I can spend alone in the bathroom.Q: Do you have to have an erection?A: No! While having an erection when you start to masturbate helps, you don’t always have to have one before you begin. For most teenage boys, often just thinking about spanking the monkey is enough to get hard, but it’s not necessarily that easy for everyone. Again, experiment, and find out what you like.Q: What are some ways I can masturbate?A: There are as many different ways to masturbate as there are individuals. Try it slow, or fast. Try twisting your hand as you stroke, or varying the pressure. You can even try some of the tricks girls like to use, like leaning against the washing machine during the spin cycle. Don’t laugh until you try it, boys. One of my favorite ways to do it is with my partner. In addition to showing her exactly what I like, we usually end up switching and doing each other half way through - way too much fun!Q: Can I masturbate wrong?A: Yes, you can. If you pull or twist too hard, or don’t use enough lubrication, you can rub the skin raw, which can be quite painful. And I am speaking from experience. While lubricant isn’t always necessary, it does help, even if you just use your own spit.Got any more questions, guys? Email then in, and we’ll answer them in future newsletters.-Mike S.

Masturbation Stigmas
By Michael A. Moore Older studies show (which is all that currently exist) that about 95% of males and 60% of females have masturbated. Researchers believe that the numbers for females would be higher if the same studies were conducted today. Despite these startling statistics, many people still frown upon the practice, and ridicule those who admit to doing it. To admit that you masturbate in high school (in most cases) would be like committing social suicide. Yet science has shown that males reach their sexual peak much earlier then women, and they do so at an age when they are unable to do anything about their sexual urges. Therefore masturbation is the logical solution. If masturbation is so common, then why do we still frown upon the practice? As is so often the case, the answers can be found throughout history. In ancient times when people had lower life expectancies and medical science wasn’t what it is today masturbation was thought to be a waste of sperm. We know today that the average male produces 50,000 sperm or more a minute which is more than enough to get the job done. Later doctors claimed that masturbation caused symptoms such as headaches, blindness and memory loss. In the 1800’s “Sylvester Graham” even claimed that if you masturbated, had erotic dreams or intercourse more then once a month it was because you ate too many rich and spicy foods. In fact John Harvey Kellogg invented “Corn Flakes” to promote health and decrease sex drive. Today some of those myths endure. One common myth is that masturbation causes your penis to grow or to get smaller. This is ridiculous and false. Masturbation has no impact on you’re penis size; (besides when you’re doing the act, but then it quickly shrinks once the deed is done) genes are the deciding factor in that. Another common myth is that you will go blind. Again that is ludicrous, but is probably linked to the fact that most people start to wear glasses at the same time they begin masturbating. Recently Graham Giles of The Cancer Council Victoria in Melbourne did a study that revealed the more men who ejaculate between the ages of 20-50 the less likely they are to suffer from prostate cancer. This piece of important research not only disproves all of the old myths about masturbation, but proves that it may actually be good for you’re health. So while most people would have you believe that masturbation is dirty, or for losers, the facts show that it is a normal part of development. In my opinion getting a teenager pregnant while still in high school, and being unable to emotionally or financially be able to look after the child is a much more “loser” thing to do then masturbating. Most people do it or have tried it in their lifetimes, and it may even be healthy for you. So while I’m not sure that the social stigmas attached to masturbation will ever go away, I sincerely hope they do. In the mean time you can rest easy by knowing that if you masturbate you are a part of the majority. Masturbation—An Overview
Woody Allen once said, “Don’t knock masturbation, its sex with someone I love.”80% of boys and men masturbate along with 60% of girls and women. Even with these high percentages, there are still so many people left alone in the dark. (Which is maybe where they want to be!) However, here you will find simple answers to some of the many questions you may have about masturbation. How do you masturbate and what is the “right” way to do it?Most men start by gently sliding their hand(s) up and down the shaft of the penis. You can gradually add pressure and speed as climax approaches. You can either *** into your hands or have a towel handy by the bed.As for women, we usually begin with our fingers. Caress the clitoris and slip one or two fingers inside, pushing in and out, until climax. Some other tricks girls use is to masturbate in the tub with warm (not hot!) water running over and into the vagina. There is no right or wrong way to masturbate. This is just a general guide.Masturbation: is the deliberate stimulation of one’s own genitals to achieve sexual arousal and pleasure. That being said - do whatever feels good to you. That’s the point. Can you masturbate too much? No. Masturbating is a fun and safe alternative to sex. There have always been the tall tales about men using up all their sperm if they do it to much -which is impossible. Your body produces more sperm than you will ever need.Masturbating will cause you to go sterile, blind or grow hairy palms, also not true. It is my personal, strong-held belief that if someone is telling you these things, it’s because they are not comfortable with themselves and their masturbation. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT.Can a doctor tell if someone has masturbated? No. Not generally speaking. Unless you have irritated the skin so badly that you have left a mark, there is no way to tell if someone has masturbated. But, that rarely happens since you would probably stop before that since it is such a sensitive area and would hurt.I can’t go two days without masturbating, is there a way to stop the urge? For whatever reason, if you feel you are doing it too much (religion, not comfortable with the amount of time you spend in the bath or bedroom), there are other activities that may distract you for awhile. Things like working out. You are using up lots of energy and increasing your overall health. Play video games to keep your hands and mind busy. Go for a walk. Sometimes fresh air really clears the mind.Does everybody masturbate? As I mentioned before, 80% of men and 60% of women masterbate. So not everybody, but most people. It’s okay if you do and it’s okay if you don’t. There really is very little to worry about when if comes to masturbation.—Melanie Celestetop

How to Make Mutual Masturbation Pleasurable
By Jeffery L. JacksonMasturbation can be a pleasurable, exciting and creative experience if you and your partner mutually want to do it. It will cause you and your partner to explore each other’s body and learn new ways to maintain a healthy sex life without having intercourse. Mutually agreeing to masturbate together can also bring out characteristics in a shy person like playfulness and laughter and may even cause the person to open up and start being loquacious. Here are some ways in which you and your partner can masturbate together: Get your partner’s favorite fruit and sprinkle the juices on his or her body. As you lick the juice from his or her body, kiss him or her on the lips. Caress and watch him or her until he or she has an orgasm. Put some of your partner’s favorite ice cream on his or her body. Before you put it on their body, though, begin to kiss and massage his or her belly and slowly slurp the ice cream from the belly up or the belly down. Caress and watch him or her until he or she has an orgasm. With both partners lying in the bed, both partners should take turns caressing and licking each other until both have an orgasm. The key to this would be to start by licking your partner’s nipples. Then go down to the front of the neck, the inside of the thighs, the feet and then come back up, licking the feet, licking the thighs, the belly, the nipples, the neck and then licking the lips and moving to the forehead. A kiss to the lips can also be added. Also, caress the genitalia while you are licking all areas. Role-playing is a great way to mutually masturbate. Come up with different scenarios and have fun. For example, one of you could be a doctor while the other is a patient. Pretend that the patient has been having stomach pains. Start by kissing his or her naval and licking it. Of course, massage the genitalia while you are doing it. Or pretend to be an astronaut on the moon. One of you is the explorer and the other person is the moon. Have fun and be creative. If one or the both of you have a fantasy, share it. That is a very creative way to get your partner or both of you excited. The fulfillment of a fantasy could very well lead to an orgasm and it would also lead to future satisfaction when intercourse is involved. top

Can You Masturbate Too Much?
By Jeffery L. Jackson Jr.Masturbation is a pleasurable thing. It is safe and the chance of getting an STD is almost obselete. Masturbation is natural and eases a lot of sexual tension. It reduces horniness and is a form of instant gratification, but can you masturbate too much? There isn’t an easy answer to this, but if you masturbate a lot, chances are that some physical and mental effects will come of it. For example, the genitalia becomes tender if you masturbate a lot in a short amount of time. Redness and soreness is apparent on the genitalia. If this happens, reduce the number of times you masturbate and try using lubricant to reduce the friction from your hand or whatever mechanism is used. The psychological effects of masturbating too much are that you begin to become dependent on masturbating or it leads to wanting to have sex and that could lead to an addiction. Masturbating too much could also lead to you not being satisfied by the person you are involved with and being satisfied by the source of your masturbation. You will become dependent on the source of your masturbation to the extent that the real thing won’t please you the same way as masturbating will.In addition, you can masturbate too much if the only thing you can think about is masturbating. Although you don’t need anyone else to participate, if you masturbate too much, you might begin to notice that the only thing you can think about is sex. You wouldn’t want masturbating to be the highlight of your day or for it to interfere with other things like movies, shopping or sporting activities. If you get horny often, and find yourself fascinated bypornography and masturbation, chances are that you are masturbating too much.top

Masturbation: The New Cancer Fighter
By Matt PalmerYou have all heard the myths about masturbation. It will make you go blind. You will develop hairy palms. It will cause cancer. Well, science has proven the cancer stories about masturbation to be false. Masturbation, it seems, can help ward off prostate cancer. A study by Graham Giles and his research team at the Cancer Council Victoria in Melbourne have found that people who masturbated more often (5 times a week) had a lower risk of prostate cancer. This study was accomplished by comparing the answers to sexual habits on masturbation by males with prostate cancer (1079 participants) and healthy males (1279 participants). The study found that the males who masturbated more were less likely to develop prostate cancer. Another study by Michael Leitzmann, at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, followed 30,000 males for eight years and recorded their ejaculation habits. They found the same results as Graham Giles study; 21 times a month cut the risk of prostate cancer by a third with 12 times a month starting to create a benefit. The researchers believe that masturbation removes a build-up of carcinogens in the prostate, which causes cancer. The prostate secretes the bulk of the fluid in semen. So, as Graham Giles said, “The more you flush the ducts out, the less there is to hang around and damage the cells that line them.” More information on these studies can be found at http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn3942 and http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn4861top

Is Masturbating Okay When You Are In A Relationship?
By Melissa VoelkerNow That You Are Getting SomeSo you are in a committed, sexual relationship and things are going well with you and your partner. You kiss, you cuddle, you have sex, and you enjoy all of it. But then something begins to nag at you, something you feel like you are missing, maybe something that has been a part of your life for a long time but that you’ve cut out recently. After all, if your sexual relationship with your partner is going well, why should you need to think about masturbating? Shouldn’t you be satisfied just having “real” sex?The Truth of the Matter Is.While a lot of people start out thinking it would be wrong to masturbate once they are having sex with another person, it is actually very common for men and women in committed relationships to pleasure themselves. Studies have shown that 97% of single men and 68% of single women masturbate, and at least half of them continue to do so once they are with someone. And very seldom is their reason for doing so because they are unhappy or unsatisfied with their current sex life or because they are thinking of sleeping with someone besides their partner. So Why Do You Make With the Self-Love?Every person is different and every relationship is different, so your reasons for wanting to masturbate will be different. Sometimes it could be as simple as being really horny when your partner is unavailable (sick, depressed, tired, on their period, not in the “mood”) to have sex with. Other times it could be a little more lazy and selfish, like you feel the need to have an orgasm but you don’t want to spend the energy having sex. There is something intimate and comforting in the act of pleasing one’s self that most people find necessary for their own mental and emotional well-being. They may use it to fall asleep or as a little midday pick-me-up.Does Masturbating Actually Help a Relationship?Sex and masturbation are not mutually exclusive. You can have a perfectly healthy sex life and still masturbate. Some couples even enjoy masturbating together, finding it adds a fun aspect to their normal love-play. Becausemasturbation promotes feelings of being in control of your sexual satisfaction without having to rely on a partner to orgasm, it can actually make you feel more confidant about sex. And studies show that the effect it has on females in relationships is especially positive, helping them know their own bodies and needs so they can relay that information to their sex partners. An Open Dialogue About Your “Personal Pleasure Cruises”Finding out that your partner still masturbates or having your partner find that out about you can take some time to get used to. In the beginning many people feel betrayed and lied to, as if they don’t really know their partners at all because they kept such a secret. At the same time, those people may feel too guilty, embarrassed, or worried that their partner will get angry with them to admit to it themselves. There can be some upfront resentment because it may seem like your partner isn’t getting what they need from you sexually. The only way for you or your partner to find out if either of you are masturbating is to ask directly. It is best to do this in a way that doesn’t sound accusatory or confrontational. Bring it up in a non-sexual situation and direct the conversation to how it applies to your relationship as a whole. If both of you try to be as open and honest about it as possible, it can save a lot of hurt feelings and arguments from happening. So Is Masturbating Okay When You Are In a Relationship?Something very important to remember is that just because you are in a relationship with someone does not mean that you stop doing all of the things you enjoyed before. It just means that a new facet is added on to what you were already apart of on your own. You may be very happy with your partner, and you will still discover that you can get something else from yourself that is just as vital and important as what you get from other people.
