I think I may have add/adhd, please help :(?
Ok I'm REALLY getting pissed of at this. I always do my hmw at the last minute, when I'm eating food I just take a few bites and go to watch tv. I usually day dream in school and I almost always forget where I put my things.
I told my parents I think I may have this but they just made a joke about it and laughed at me :( They're like "don't blame your carelessness on a disease" and "oh so you WANNA have a disease? That's a good thing isnt it"
I'm so mad, they wont even listen. Can you guys please help?

next time you have a check up or whatever talk to the doctor while your parents arent in the room.. doctors tend to take you a little more seriously then your parents when it comes to stuff like that..

I have two boys with ADHD and what you are describing is not ADHD. The best thing to do is check with your doctor next time you are in for a check up. The other option is to talk to your school teachers, they are not physicians but they should be aware of the signs for both ADD and ADHD. I know that the teachers at the school my boys go to have at least a basic idea of what to look for.
Another thing is that ADD and ADHD are not diseaes. You can not "catch" it. The medication that is prescribed is not a fix it solution but basically slows down the brain activity so that you are not thinking of a million things at once. Essentially it helps you to stay focused for the time that you are in school each day.
The hardest thing for you will be teaching yourself to stay focused and on track when you are not medicated. My eldest son does his homework at school because that works for him whilst the next one down does his at home because he need the help to stay calm, focused and on track. They are both different and you'll find the same thing for yourself. What works for one person may not work for you.
lastly, if you have managed to read all of this, you probably don't have either ADD or ADHD as those who do would usually have stopped reading by now.
Good luck with finding out what is going on. And don't be discouraged by one negative response. There may actually be something else wrong, like a sleep disorder, which is just as serious. Just keep searching till you find out what is going.
