what effect could overtraining have on my body?

the way I see it, the more I overtrain, the more it will take for me to overtrain, as my body becomes more used to it. Therefore, I'll be able to train more and for longer, that's what I beleive at least.

Answers:
You can overuse tendons, muscles and loads of other stuff by overtraining. Your body requires a resting period so that those muscles can repair themselves and grow..Your logic is off. It's like saying well, the way I see it, the more I drink, the more it will take for me to get drunk, as my body becomes more used to it. Therefore, I'll be able to drink more and for longer..Well yeah, that is true, BUT what damage will you be doing to your body in the process? Too much of anything can be damaging. Relax, pace yourself, be patient and that endurance you are striving for will come.

it can coz tiresome to your boby.

If you are seriously wanting to become stronger. Then lifting weights is not going to do it for you . You need a job to do. Work that is physically demanding.
Lifting weights just makes your muscles big, not strong,
You can have huge biceps and not be able to punch your way out of a paper sack. But if you work at a job it will build the lasting type of sinewy muscles that can build a railroad all by your self kind of strength.
Fancy men use weights, Real men work.
your body will tire and in extreme cases it could make you very sick but also have you ever seen bodybuilders who really overtrain when they get older they are fat the more you overtrain the less you're body responds and the more it takes to stay in shape so unless you want to overweight in 10-15 years dont overtrain stay on a decent regimen tweak your diet until you get to where you want change the workout routine but do over do it otherwise when you start gaining weight (fat) you wont be able to get it off as easily
your imune system will go down ,mood swings, and you will be more prone to injury a muscle needs 72 hours to repiar
