Anyone ever have trouble unbending their fingers after they make a fist? (worst in morning)?

I have been getting finger pain that is worst in the morning. WHen I would make a fist, I have trouble opening up my fingers. I have to actually pull them apart.
I recently took up golf, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I am still in my early 20's, i hope its not arthiritis.

Sounds like "trigger finger" which could be the result of carpal tunnel syndrome. You should see an orthopedist. Maybe a little cortisone and some physical therapy will set you right.

Get a blood test for rhematoid factor.
I had this when I was cleaning 30 stalls a day for a barn. I think it's an inflammation of the tendons in your hand and forearm. It's probably the golf.
Arthritis can hit at any age. I have Reumatoid Arthrist and the same thing happens to me, however you could be experiencing some nerve injury from the golf. You need to go to your dr to find out for sure. Good Luck!
if you do any repetative, continual holding of something it is very common, ask anyone who has ever worked with a hook and a knife in a meat packing plant. it is not arthiritis about a month after you started the activity that is causing this it should go away if it does not you should see ur doc. im a nurse and i used to work in a packing plant, you can take my word
its the golf
Do you type a lot? It's only arthritis when it hurts at your joints. I think it could be arthritis because not being able to open a fist comfortably would be not being able to move your joints as well.
Go to a doctor is what I would suggest.
Arthritis or maybe carpal tunnel syndrome
Yes. I do. I've noticed this ever since I was very young 6 or 7 maybe. and it does happen in the morning. I never thought anything of it and I just figured it was because I hadn't used my hands all night. I don't have to pry them open but it's almost like they are numb. It has never gotten any worse over the years and I'm not really worried about it. I don't think I had arthritis when I was 6 and if it was something serious I'm sure something even more serious would have happened by now. But, if it makes you feel better, get it checked out.
it could be anything.but..just taking up golf..sounds like it..your using muscles.inhands..shoulders.l. back.that you may not work much...try any OTC..treatment. As for the arthritis there is always that chance.if you do not get relief.see a ortho. if you have any tingling..numbness.
I had that problem ummm about three years ago. I was having pain in my pinky and ring finger on my right and left hands. I had numbing and tingly feelings (worse in the morning, but the pain was non stop) sometimes the pain in my wrist felt like menstrual cramps..yeah that bad. When I would hold a coffee mug and put it down, I couldn't because my fingers were stuck in the same position. I couldn't grab some things and sometimes I couldn't grasp. So I made my boss aware of the problem and I was sent to the company's doctor. It turned out that I had Carpal Tunnel. I had the surgery and I didn't have a problem since. Carpal Tunnel is when the ligaments in the wrist become inflamed and because of the small band in the wrist, there is no where for the inflammation to expand so that is where the pain and the lack of control of fingers come from.. in any event, it is best to contact your doctor and he/she will do what is best. I ended up going to physical therapy for a while. Good luck to you.
