You might have pinched a nerve
You could have nerve damage in your neck/back.
you probably slept on your arm or hand !
Bad circulation, if you smoke quit smoking, if not just wait a little bit.
you must be slept on top ure hand and the blood didnt get to circulate.

you probably slept on your hand and it fell asleep for a long period of time and you never awoke to correct it during the night. I would just give it awhile and it will probably go away.

were you touching yourself last night just a little too much?
the last time it happened to me I had spent the previous night rolling about 50 spliffs. Did you roll up a whole lot of weed last night?
get checked for diabetes
If you just woke up, then you're blood is probably not circulating correctly. You were probably sleeping on your hand or something. Just open and close your hand repetedly until you work the blood back into your hand. If it lasts for more then 1 hour, you should call the Dr. It's a sign of diabetes.
Depends on how long you've been up and how often this happens. If it is a re-occurring problem I would go see a doctor because you could have carpal tunnel syndrome or just poor circulation due to a blood clot.
Does this happen a lot? My fingers all except my pinky were getting numb a lot and I ended up needing carpal tunnel surgery. Its an out patient thing. If it does happen a lot you should get it looked at.
