what are the causes of HIV,how long does it take to become fully blown?
Answers:
The best and only true way of determining the stage of HIV and AIDS is to get tested by your doctor. Please do it as soon as possible. People can be infected by the virus for years before an infection (AIDS) develops. It is best to get checked out BEFORE an infection makes a person very sick.
I am including a link for a terrific site about HIV. There is a huge database, and there are links there to write to doctors for advice. As well, they always have informative articles.
But . please . do get checked very soon because symptons are not always a reliable way to tell anything about HIV and the stages. Good luck.
HIV is a virus, specifically, a "retrovirus", which is an RNA virus instead of a DNA virus. This is the only cause of AIDS, which is a "syndrome". There is no such thing as "full blown HIV", but there is such a thing as "full blown AIDS". How long that takes to develop depends on the patient's immune system, general health at time of onset, and whether or not they have had the genetic good luck to be born immune to it (its rare, but some people are). Usually it takes around ten years. The good news is that advances are being made every single day against it, and a vaccine is in the "pipeline" that will hopefully allow people to someday say "AIDS. what's that?"
