I want to be a reflexologist, do I have to take a long course?
Can somebody give me an info about short course to become a refeloxologist. I've been practising reflexologist and my patients are always satisfied with my service. Do I need to get certified and what school?
Answers:
This depends where you are situated. A diploma course is around a year long certificates vary from a year to a few weeks. There are lots of different ways to do these courses and some you can do at home. See what your regulatory body has to say about it if you are in the US or UK but in Australia there is no real regulatory body, the Reflexology Association of Australia would like to think they are, but the leagl truth is anyone can practice it with or without qualifications. The reason most people here who have been practicing for a long time without a formal qualification even bother with courses or qualification is to get a piece of paper to keep the insurance companies happy so they get practitioner liability insurance. That is it really, to make sure when some whacko wants to sue you you are covered!
Hope this helps.

I would get a diploma to cover yourself for insurance purposes.
you could do a diploma home study course then do a short hands on course at local college. thats what I did in counselling I studied my basic, advanced and my specialist field then did short college certificate to say I had supervision then did a little voluntary work in a centre, which led to paid work. I would get a certificate as some people will ask you what certificates you have and what college you attended. it is also nice to beable to show of your certificates in your work area that will give you more feedback and belief in yourself. also if you advertise for work you can say you have studied and got relevant certificates.good luck
