My arm and thumb hurts?

Just recently I have been feeling a slight numbness and tingling in my right thumb and forearm. My mom said it could be carpal tunnel, but I'm only 13 and that seems a little early to get it. I do play the saxophone and I work on the computer a lot soo I don't know if thats why it hurts. Please answer, I just want to know if anythings wrong..

You may be taking too much of the weight of the sax on your arm. Have you got a support strap for it?
I get the same, only worse, but mine is due to a 'pinched' nerve in my neck and I am more than 60 years older than you.
You can check to see if this is your problem quite easily.
While the tingling is present gently move your head around, in all directions. If it makes no difference to the sensation, it is not your neck.
Can't tell you any more.

At your age pains such as this are usually associated with overuse. Take a few days off from activities which use your fingers and arm. Buy some Aleve and take as directed to relieve symptoms
Take some motrin every six hours, lay off of the sax and keyboard, if doesnt get better see your doctor
