have you ever had a really bad tension headache that lasts for a very long time??

what can cause headaches? what can you do to prevent them?? do they have an effect on your memory? have you lost weight??

Answers:
A headache that lasts a long time is a migraine. It is caused when the Capilliarys that carry blood towards the brain become dilated allowing more blood to flow the normal thus causing the capilliarys to enlarge and press against the skull .My migraine norrmally sits behind the right eye and stretches all the way towards the centre of the head.
I have found that if I have cheese or chocolates and even some types of Orange juice it triggers a migraine. So I avoid these.
I tried various medicines but none of them worked. Then one doctor prescribed a new medicine that had just come on the market (this was a few years ago) The medicine is called ZOMIG and comes in 2mg. tablet form.It is quite expensive and so the doctor normally prescribes only a pack of 6.
Within half an hour of taking Zomig my migraine is cured.
Now I never leave home without these tablets.
ZOMIG is made by ASRTA ZENECA. Its full name is ZOLMITTRIPTAN.
ask your doctor and see if these will be suitable for you.

Yeah, I've these. You literally can't do a thing.

Nurofen now do tablets specifically for tension headaches and they do provide some relief so I'd give them a try if I was you.

First of all you've got to make sure that you know the difference between migraines, tension headaches, and headaches caused by blocked sinuses. Migraines may be triggered by a variety of factors. Doctors usually suggest one keep a diary to determine the triggering factor. It could be anything from particular foods to strong smells. Migraines usually fell like a pulsating pain in either one or both temples. Tension headaches feel more like a tightening around the head, while sinus-related headaches feel as though your head is filled with liquid that moves if you tilt your head. Usually migraines may last between 3 to 7 days while tension headaches should ease before that. Consult a neurologist to help you determine which type of headache you're experiencing and recommend appropriate treatment. If you suffer from sinusitis, you should then consult and ENT Specialist.
