I slammed my large toe on a stack of wood three nights ago , and it was fine for a day and a half.?

Now it has been pounding. What can I do without going to the Dr. I have been soaking it in Epsoms Salt. Please any good info

Answers:
Sounds like it may have picked up a little bacterial infection..
Try pouring some alcohol on it several times a day.
Don't let it get too out of hand..

as long as you iced it as soon as you got it, it will be fine...icing it for a little while is better than epsom salt
if it's swollow put ice on it.
Go to the doc, might be dislocated. Can't or won't do that prop it up above your heart. Good luck
if i were you i'd just show love to it. take it easy on the toe. I've done that many times myslef. @ first the toe doesn't hurt but then it rlly hurts a ton i found if you try not to run or kick anything ie a soccer ball it should be okay. just take it easy it may contiune to hurt for a few weeks but just try to take it easy and ice it like every hour.
ice sometimes causes constriction. which sometimes pops **** back into place. keeping away from the doctor; keeps the doctor away.if its distorted(broken) go to the doc. or it will fu*k wit you longer.
I did the same thing on a staircase about 2 months ago. I took pictures of it because I actually slammed my toenail, not my toe, and slammed the nail back into my foot - eyouch!

Keep it clean, but don't oversoak it. Let it air dry during the day - wear sandels, or no shoes if at home. Clean with alcohol, hydrogine peroxide, at night, the dry and put on neosporin.

My co-workers and I had bets to see if I could heal it on my own, and I did! Just give it a week at my recommendations, if that doesn't work and it gets infected, see a primary care physician.
ice may help to ease to swelling and some of the pain also ibuprofen, it may have caused a small fracture, if so it may hurt for up to 6 weeks.
Basically put ice on it and wear sandals is about all you really can do.
