In what order do you wash your body when taking a shower? Why?

I've been told the best way is to go from top to bottom, but I just wash whatever I feel needs to be washed first at the time.
From head downwards to the toes!
because the natural flow of the soapy water filled with dirt is from top to bottom and if you first clean your toes & then the top, the toes will again get some dirt from the top!

I wash and rinse my hair first. Then I put conditioner on my hair and wash starting at top and work my way down. I then rinse the conditioner out of my hair and rewash my face.
