Antreverted Hip JOints?

I teach dance class (generic) and I was alerted this evening about a boy who has Antreverted HIps ( not sure on the spelling) - or as the mother described, the hip joints are backwards, sort of like hip displasia in dogs. Can any one tell me about this. I need to know so that I do not aggrevate the condition.
