Torn quad muscle?
Answers:
Just stay off of it as much as you can until then and continue with the heat therapy. Buy a heating pad or an electric blanket and wrap your leg in that. Do some light quad stretches to keep it loose. I'm sure you know some stretches being that you are a runner. It probably won't heal in four days, but that is all you can do.

You cannot necessarily speed up your body's own natural healing process...however, you can slow it down by overuse of anti-inflammatories and not allowing it to rest. If you actually "tore" your quad muscle, then this is especially true and realistically you should be talking to a surgeon.
Your best option right now, is to concentrate on gentle stretching, continue with the heat patches and lay off the intense training for a few days...theraputic massage may also be of benefit if it is just pulled.
It pains me to say, if your muscle is indeed pulled, 4 days will not be nearly sufficient healing time. This is doubly so for a torn muscle. There's not much you can do to speed up your body's natural healing time, and to attempt to run on it will likely result in your injury being prolonged, if not worsened.
You can ice it to get the swelling down 20 to 30 minutes at a time, with the affected area raised above your heart. After a day or so of icing, you can use moist heat and inflammatories to deal with the pain, and help bring flexibility back to the area. The most important component to healing fully, though, is rest and time. The severity of the injury will ultimately determine if it takes a longer or shorter time, but whichever the case, 4 days is not enough. If you run on a pulled muscle, you can risk fully rupturing it, which will unnecessarily extend the duration of your injury, and possibly require you to have surgery. Best to stay off it, and let it heal. You'll have other meets.
Hope this helps.
