Lithium causes salt depletion in the body. Alcohol causes dehydration. It also eats your brain like swiss cheese, by the way. My advice? Stop drinking. Maybe you'll find you really aren't even bipolar and don't need meds once you stop drinking. It happens.

Probably very dangerous? Ask your doctor or pharmacist. Or you could try a specific search of the drugs that are being taken and it may tell you what happens when someone drinks alot!
Drinking exaggerates depression aswell so it wont be helping his/her mental state.
I think it would be extremely dangerous because most meds dont go well with alcohol. The chemicals inside the meds could react differently when mixed with alcohol and produce the results that the drug maker didnt want. The doctor who prescribed the meds should be aware of this problem.
I think you should seek help for your alcohol problem. You know already that you should not mix the two. Also alcohol can only compound your problem. I am a big believer in nutrients and healing. Improve your diet. Take a multi vitamin. Take a calcium, magenisium and zinc supplement. Do research about SamE. Its good for the liver and also for the mood fluctuations. Cut down on caffeine. Drink plenty of water. Get some sunlight every day. Stay away from people who drink. Pray a lot and ask God to help and cure you.
hi.. message me if you want to..
alcohol is bad to mix with afew drugs, i would happily look them up if you told us what they are taking.

sometimes alcohol, increases the effect of the drugs, sometimes lessens.

If they are fitting, i would guess, its increasing the effect. Its probably not life threataning, in the short term.. All the more reason to sort it asap..
then you will also contract Schizophrenia
