Some good references for Celiac Disease in general:

Lactose intolerance in celiac disease is often secondary to gluten intolerance. For most people, once you go on a gluten-free diet, your body is better able to tolerate milk products again. However, it may take several months to several years for the intestine to heal completely.

If you suspect you have a gluten intolerance you should see a GI doctor! Particularly if you have symptoms of diarrhea, etc. Celiac disease is not a gluten "allergy," it's an autoimmune disorder. There are other types of gluten "allergies" perhaps, but I'm not familiar with them.
