Ringworm on neck...how do I keep my hair from touching it?

I think I have ringworm on the back of my neck. I have shoulder-length hair; how do I keep my hair from touching it for two weeks while I spray medicine on the ringworm?

A ponytail or a bun is probably the most straightforward option, but it can get a bit boring. You can also use variations on those, like a braided ponytail or a french braid. If you make the last addition to the braid higher up on your head (1-2 inches away from the hairline), it will probably stay mostly away from the top of your neck.

Try putting your hair in pigtails, either braided or ponytailed, or in two buns on the sides of your head.

Another option might be a circular headband (one that goes all the way around your head). Depending on the thickness of the headband, it should keep the hair slightly away from the top of your neck.

You also might try putting a loose bandage (such as a square of gauze with tape on two sides) over the ringworm to keep it away from your hair if you need to leave it down. Just make sure there's plenty of room for air to get in there.

Good Luck!
