What causes nocturnal leg cramps?

low calcium, low potassium (esp if on lasix)...try banana or orange juice for potassium...try milk, ice cream, cheese, oscal D pill for calcium..

or banana split with ice cream (calcium with potassium together)

or orange julius (orange juice mixed with milk and ice chips and vanilla flavoring blended for potassium and calcium together)

Also a blood clot...esp. if one leg is bigger than the other...
for fun i'll say diabetes so get checked

When i started to get leg and foot cramps really frequently, I went to the doctor and found out I had extremely low potassium levels. Bananas are really good sources of potassium. Try that. Good Luck. *:)
i think it is a form of RLS restless leg syndrome there is a treatment for it {medicine} ask docton abour RLS
it could also be a circulation probeblem ifyou are overweight
