If you already have genital herpes can you get an outbreak in a new spot after having sexual contact w/partner

Both partner and I have genital herpes, he was having an outbreak and we had anal sex, wondering if I could get an outbreak in a new spot since his soar was open? When I do get outbreaks they are always in the same spot, curious if I can get a new soar in a new spot, don't think I can since I already have the disease myself.

You can absolutely get them in a new spot! Genital herpes affects the whole genital area. You can get sores anywhere in the genital area and anal area. They don't necessarily have to be in the same spot every single time.

Also, it's NEVER a good idea to have sex if either you or your partner is currently having an outbreak. Doing this can cause the other person to have an outbreak. It's best to just wait until the sores have healed to have sex again.

DISGUSTING. Yes, you will get in there. Haven't you ever heard of a condom? Or better yet, NOT having sex during an outbreak?

of course there's only so many places herpes infects. once all those are filled up, you kind of don't ahve to worry about that anymore
