What is considered a high, low, and normal blood sugar level?

I'm hearing that low is like 65 mg/dL or lower and that high is 300 mg/dL or higher. Normal is between 70-115 mg/dL. Can anyone clarify this?

Answers:
I AM IN MEDICAL SCHOOL!
Normal range is 60-110.
Low is below 60
High is above 110.
Some people are OK at 170 some people are not.
If you are having any warning signs ( extreme thirst, Increased urine output and blurred vision ) call your doctor and let him or her know immediately. If you put it off, you could cause damage to your kidneys, eyes or you could lose your feet.

yup
' Blood glucose levels change due to the interaction among what we eat, our physical activity and insulin. Normal values of blood glucose levels (for a person without diabetes) are between 70 and 110 mg/dL before a meal, or below 120 mg/dL 2 hours after eating a meal."
40 is too low, you can't think, you shake, you are irritable, you are cold and you could have a seizure.
I am a diabetic and anything between 80 and 120 is normal and up to 160 is normal within 2 hours of eating a meal, Other high or low can cause problems and can make you take a trip to the emergency room so be careful and watch it closely and do what the doctor tells you to. I am on insulin and It has changed my life for the better and I am so glad I chose to go on insulin. It gives me so much more freedom and I can live life alot freer
www.mayoclinic.com they have all the answers
I am in nursing school, and according to all the books, 80-120 is normal. Anything below- you are hypoglycemic (low), anything above and you are diabetic. Especially if you maintain at above or below normal. If you just have short bursts either way, then it could be an omen of what will happen in the future, as far as it becoming a permanent condition. Diet and exercise can and probably will prevent either condition.
It can be more specific, and detailed for each individual person, but that's about right on.
well in mmol its under 4 low, 5-15 normal, and >15 high
