Can you catch herpes from someone if they just touch you down there?

My friends and I are in a little debate about it. I believe it's impossible to get herpes from a guy if he just "man handles" you down there...they think you can catch it from someone who has it even if they just touch you.
Answers:    Your answer is yes I am sorry to tell you!

How do you get Herpes?

Herpes is transmitted through direct contact, including kissing, sexual contact (oral, vaginal and anal sex), or skin to skin contact with an infected partner. Although herpes is most contagious before, during, and after an outbreak, it is possible to transmit the virus when no symptoms are present. Because symptoms during an outbreak can range from severe to hardly detectable, herpes is thought to be commonly passed by people who are unaware of their infection or do not realize that their infection can be passed when no symptoms are present. Anyone who has unprotected sex, regardless of his or her age, sexual preference, or background, can get herpes. A pregnant woman can also pass the infection to her newborn during delivery.
I think you have to have direct genital to genital contact.
no dear it is sexually contacted disease
There has to be oral to genital or genital to genital contact.
If he has an active lesion or herpatic sore & touches it & then touches you, you can contract herpes.
Anything is possible. I knew someone who got genital herpes from someone's saliva, even though technically you're not supposed to get it that way. You'd be surprised how many people have herpes and pass it on without even knowing it.
Genital Herpes is spread through sexual contact.
the answer is no you only catch it if you go all the way there is a possiablty that you can if he has had a breakout and has gotten some of the germs that carry it on his hands
If there is open sores then it can be transmitted through contact, lets say he has open sores in his genital regend, or even on his face, (there is more than one type of herpes) and he takes a leak or wipes his mouth, herpes is on his fingers, then he sticks them inside of u, what do u think will happen. Whoever thinks that is has to do with sexual intercourse is badly mistaken, and may wind up with it themselves, it is all about the open lessions, yes there has to be skin to skin contact, but does not have to be sexual, if there are not open lessions, then, it would have to be an exchange of bodily fluids.
the only way is if that person is broke out and touches the spot and then touches you will you catch it
sorry to tell you, but it can be passed on just by him touching you. even if a man has a cold sore on his mouth, he can pass it on to you through oral sex. if he has touched his mouth recently, then touches you "down there", it is VERY possible to get it!!

be careful! herpes is extremely painful and never goes away!!
I think you can if they have touched there area then yours but they would have to be contagious at the time
Usually STDs are transmitted through kissing or intercourse.
If a person has a herpes sore on the lips, for example, he or she can spread herpes to the lips of another person through kissing. Infection can also be spread from the lips to the genitals during oral sex. This is why so many cases of genital herpes are caused today by herpes type 1.

If one has a herpes sore on the genitals, coitus or other unprotected sexual activity gives the virus a chance to spread, resulting most often in genital-to-genital transmission.
LMAO. Thats hilarious. First off i taught a sex ed class for volunteer work at a high school. AND NO you can NOT catch Herpes by some one just touching you with their hands. BUT you can catch herpes if the other person has it by the mouth area and you exchange saliva, or have oral sex. As well as if they have genital Herpes.. you can catch it if you have sexual intercourse. But lol not by shaking hands.
Hope i helped!
Yes you can get herpes if he just touches you down there. What if he just went to the bathroom and had a herpes sore on him, he touched himself to pee and did NOT wash his hands, then you can get herpes. Be Careful!
