Def:band shaped horizontal opacity across themiddle third of the cornea due to hyaline & cacreous degeneration.
Etiology:
1-Secondary:degenerated blind eye as asequle of iridocyclitis,absolute glucoma or ocular trauma.
2-Primary:unknown cause
Clinical pic:
1-Symptoms:corneal irritative symptoms.
2-Signs:band shaped horizontal opacity acros the middle 1/3 of cornea
Treatment:
1-Secondary type:enucleation of degenerated atrophic blind eye.
2-primary type:
*scraping of the opacity.*lamellar keratoplasty.

A band shaped corneal inflammation caused by injuries of eye or inflammation of uveal tract. Calcium is deposited beneath corneal epithelium. Treated in early stages by scraping the epithelium and removal of calcium.
