Genital warts??
do we get genital warts by shaking hands?
Answers:
I do not think so. Genital warts spread by skin to skin contact of the affected area. hands do not shed the virus. If somebody touches hands to affected area and you touch your hand immediately near your genitals, you may get it. but it looks far fetched.
HPV virus causes genital warts. There are more than hundred HPV virus types. Only the type HPV6 causes anogenital warts. After one gets the virus, one may not get genital warts for months or years, but becomes a carrier. During that period, the affected person may pass on the virus to others. If you are in sexual relation with someone and if he/she shows no outer sign of warts, it does not mean that they cannot pass on the virus to you. Even they might be totally unaware that they are carriers.
uh no.. it's a sexually transmitted disease.. also known as HPV
No. You can get warts from shaking someones hand who has warts on their hand though, but this isn't considered genital warts.
Not unless someone has been touching lesions shedding HPV and then shakes your hand and you immediately touch your genitals. The odds of that happening are just about zero.
It's not a bad idea to wash your hands every time before touching your genitals or any other mucous membrane (like the eyes or mouth or rectum.)
Genital warts are virtually always sexually transmitted. The human papilloma virus (HPV) that caused genital worts is also the cause of most cervical cancer in women, so there's more reaon to avoid than ugly bumps. It's also implicated in some cancers in men. And there is currently no cure for HPV, althougn a vaccine is just on the market that prevents many of the HPV strains.
Genital warts are caused by Human Papilloma virus. The medical literature does not mention about the same. Herpes labialis can be spread by kissing. Herpes simplex virus will be spread by sharing articles such as towel, razor, cups, etc.
