What is the worst sunburn you have ever had?
Answers:
Oh, I got FRIED once. I was in Honduras and I was fishing all day in Lago de Yohoa, wearing a bathing suit. The sunscreen had LONG burned off. I have freckles on my back to this day from that. [it was 1985] When I stepped, pain shot up my legs because the skin was 2 sizes too small. I was a walking lobster!!
The worst I have ever had was when I was at the beach, and did not use any lotion it hurt real bad and from then on I made sure it did not happen again.
hmm can we say on behalf of someone else? (This is a bit morbid)
My partners ex flatmate tried to commit suicide by sunburn! In New Zealand the hole in the ozone layer is directly above so the burntime in our country is around 7 minutes.
Anyway, he was a very large man and when it all got too much for him, he lay on the beach in the direct sunlight and fell asleep with the intention of burning himself to death. He received extreme burning to his skin that he had to receive skin grafts and spent 3 months in hospital recovering. The tips of his fingers and nose were black to the crisp and the skin that wasn't grafted had extreme blistering to it that I cant even begin to describe it here!
Sorry if this was a bit much, but he defintely had the worst sunburn ever. I haven't heard how he turned out (this was a good 4 years ago) but I'm sure you get the point!
I did the plumbing on the pool at my sisters new house this summer.. the next morning I woke up with blisters all over my back and shoulders. Guess it helps to wear sunblock : ) When I look at the pictures of the burn, it makes my stomach flip!
Spring break trip to the beach. Fell asleep on my back on a slightly overcast day. No sunscreen at all. Out from 9:30 am until about 3:00.
Blistered eyelids, area between breasts, tops of feet, not to mention everywhere in between. Ran 102 fever for a week. It all peeled, of course, and for the rest of that summer, every time I went out, even briefly, it felt as though it were sun shining on a new and bad sunburn. I ended up with zero tan that year.
That was 35 years ago, I am now reaping the negative effects of that one burn (I guess it is positive effects for the dermatologist I pay).
