Can almond oil in a lotion irritate a peanut allergy?
Thank you!
Answers:
not necessarily, people allergic to peanuts are advised to remove all tree nuts from their diet due to cross contamination.Oils have smaller traces if at all of any cross contaminants,I am sure it will be fine but you can patch test your boyfriends skin by applying some of the cream to the inner corner of his arm fold just behind the elbow,a reaction will show up as redness or irritation, and in that case it should be avoided. If you are just using it on your skin it shouldn't be strong enough to evoke a response in your boyfriend.
it should be fine just read the ingrediants if it doesnt have any peanut it should be fine
I would not tempt fate. If your alergic to peanuts it is quite likely you have other nut alergies. Peanuts are the "least lethal" - so I would always be sure you do not use products with any type of nuts. Also be sure to read food lables - a lot of candy will have warnings on them that state they are processed in plants which use nuts. The candy etc. may not be a nut - like regular M & Ms - but they are processed in a plant which does make other things with nuts and a stray just might pass through.
Yes.Peanut allergy is commonly associated with allergy to tree nuts, especially Brazil nuts, almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts. The reason why peanuts and nut derivatives are so allergenic remains unknown.
Please ask your Boy friend to stop using lotion containing Almond oil .
